Dealership Service Review

3.2 out of 5 starsservice Rating
Disappointed with every interaction at Hyannis Honda service department.

I almost hate to write this review, I had such a great experience with the Sales Department when I purchased my new Honda here 5 months ago. However, every single time I have brought it in for service I have been more than unimpressed. I had started to notice a snapping sound when making turns or backing up. After several trips to the Service Department to identify this problem, it was finally diagnosed as being a defective part. At first I was told that it was just how the new electronic power steering was supposed to sound. I knew that was not the case since the noise had started about a month after I purchased my vehicle and it was progressively getting worse. So, common sense was telling me that there was a mechanical issue of some sort. Ok, so they had to order the part from Honda and I was told that I would need to return yet again for the repair and they would notify me by phone when the part arrived. After a week and a half I figured I would check on the status of the part needed for my repair. I called the Service Department and I was told the part had come in about four days ago and they had left a message on my mobile phone. They never called me and there was no message left if they did. They told me that they were about to return the part to Honda since I had not called to arrange a appointment?! So far not the end of the world. I went ahead and scheduled the appointment. I was told to make it as early in the morning so that I would have better odds of receiving a dealership loaner vehicle. This repair job was going to take roughly four to five hours to complete. I arrived for my appointment at 7:45, just about fifteen minutes before the doors opened. I had to take the day off from work and drive the 50 miles up Cape to get there. I checked in with the service advisor, who was to their credit extremely polite and professional. I was told that they do not have loaner cars available and I would have to sit and wait. I would have made other arrangements if that was going to be the case. It is a warranty issue due to a defective part after all. I guess the whole point of this review is if you have to get your service performed there, make sure you communicate with them because they sure won't with you. If I knew I'd be sitting in a Service Department week after week I would have just kept my old vehicle. I did not buy a new car so I could drive it back and forth to and from service appointments.
