Not Cheap Cheap; old sales tactics
Written by 09/04/2008
onI tried to purchase a car from Elk Grove Honda only to confront the old school sales tactics. I started with the internet sales rep for a quote. When I confronted him that I had a lower quote, he immediately lowered his quote. Right then, I should have stopped because he wasn't even starting off with his lowest quote. Unfortunately, I continued on. Luckily, I shopped around and obtained a few more quotes.
Since Elk Grove Honda was closer to my home, I really wanted to purchase the vehicle from them. The day I went in for the purchase, I was confronted by the same old sales tactics of having the sales rep present me a price (which was high). I told they that I expected a certain price because my friend had just purchased a similar car from another dealer. Unfortunately, the negotiations just went back and forth until I just gave up and walked out.
No less then 30 minutes after I walked out, the internet sales rep called me to say he had a better offer. By then, I was sick of them and just said I didn't even want to hear it.
