They SEE STUPID written across customers forehead
Written by janc2 on 07/04/2012
I sent my daughter to Bluegrass BMW to get my key initialized because for some stupid reason these keys loose initialization. I called in advance and explained to Becky that I didn't want them to ripped me off again and she assured me I would not. I took another chance on them one last time hoping they would treat me right. I just lost my husband and my health isn't good and needed my car and the key lock to work for safety reasons and my well being. While my daughter was there she also asked to have the oil changed and they was supposed to have cleared fault entries that continued to show up for no reason through several years. They claimed it was a bad sensor in 2007 and put a new one on it which didn't do anything then. A day later on 7/3/12 one of the keys lost initialization again. While my daughter was there they tried to sell her a bill of goods that this and that needed to be replaced. They claimed the oil drain plug was cross threaded and at first claimed couldn't get it out and said they couldn't just order a new plug and the whole thing would have to be replaced which would cost a whopping $1256.21. Then, they claimed that a whole list of items needed fixing which each cost either over $1200 for this and that or over $200 for this or that. By the time the guy finished, I would have paid three times or more than the car was worth. When she told him to just initialize the keys and forget about the oil change, all of a sudden he could get the plug out. He charged her $34.40 for oil filter, $23.89 for element, $89.44 for the oil, $5.16 for repair order shop charge, and $89.00 for labor. By the time he changed my oil and initialized my keys the bill was $211.60. He claimed the keys had incorrect code. Now tell me how a key all of a sudden comes up with an incorrect code all on it's own? He claimed on the invoice that both keys tested to operate normally after he got through. They worked fine that day, but by the 2ND day after my daughter drove two hrs. back home, only one key worked. He also claimed he cleared the fault memory which also malfunctioned by the 2ND day. He noticed SES light was on when vehicle was pulled into shop which stayed on since they claimed they fixed it in 2007, but didn't. This was the same SES light they were suppose to have fixed in 2007, but didn't, along with drivers side seat squealed while attempting to move up or back and they claimed they replaced control panel cover $56.00 for labor plus $56.60 setting covers, was suppose to have replaced coolant level sensor and radiator outlet sensor $$70.00 more in labor plus $28.50 for temperature sensor plus $31.20 for Switch rad. $$14.50 filter element, $64.80 oil, and yet another $70.00 in labor for changing the oil. A total in 2007 of $414.00 for getting ripped off. Even then as soon as we returned home, two hrs. away the SES light came back on claiming coolant level was low, seat still squealed and when we called them all we got was the run around telling us to bring the car back to them 2 hours away to only get ripped off for even more money. My husband didn't go back because we both had been dealing with health issues one after the other and couldn't continually make those constant two hour trips. We winded up mainly using our second vehicle most of the time and never could find a reason for the SES light staying on. This BMW cost over $60,000 and anything and everything has fallen off of it since we've had it. The glove box pull has just come loose and is hard to pry open, the air control system in the back seat has come away from what holds it, the shades in the back seat window have torn up, the clip in the small door compartment has come out, the phone holder is only useful for the older phones and does not work on the newer updated phones, and the cup holders are cheap and we've already replaced them twice which are very expensive. BMW's are cheaply made, do not hold up to what they claim, and going to a BMW place is just asking to get ripped off. I know now why advisers warn people to never take your car to a dealership to have any work done. If they were so great, they would hire people that are really trained in fixing these pieces of crap they sell and they wouldn't have to charge you ten prices just to fix something so simple, but this is where they get you and how they make big bucks. It's not so much as what they make on selling you the vehicle, it is how much they get you for on small repairs that never really get repaired, but keep you having to come back. It should be against the law to take advantage of people this way. I wouldn't advise anyone to buy such an expensive automobile as this because it just isn't worth the headaches you will have plus the enormous amount of money they will cheat you out of and go home and sleep good at night. I don't know how they can look themselves in the mirror. I thought Memphis was a horror story, but Paducah isn't any better. I guess they all walk in the same kind of dirty shoes. I was taken advantage of yet again, but no more. These BMW's do not hold their value like they claim, nor do they hold up any better than the cheapest auto out there. Word of mouth is the best way to stop these [non-permissible content removed] and I intend to spread the word. I don't want anyone to get ripped off like I was. Becky, you lied just like Chris did in maintenance. You were ready to rip me off before my car was ever brought in. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Someday you will get your dues by a higher power than the customers you helped to rip off. At the very least try being honest with your customers that your main intentions are to cheat them if they dare to come in. A reputable business is far and few these days and yours is the farthest from it. My advise is, If you want to keep your money for worthwhile things you need in life, don't buy a BMW from my experience.
