Dealership Service Review

1 out of 5 starsservice Rating
horrible service from Palmer Dodge
Written by robinlou on 10/20/2007
Took our 2005 Dakota truck in for its 30,000 mile check up...Up to this point, the truck has been wonderful. Dropped truck off and one week later it was ready. Picked truck up and it was bucking so badly we had to take it back within the hour. They obviously had not test driven the vehicle and we were told it was a faulty part. Another 10 days passed and we finally picked up the truck on a Wednesday. They had replaced a recalled tranmission part and we still didn't feel the truck drove like it used to..On Thursday the truck was driven about 50 miles and on Friday my son took the truck and called me saying it would only go about 40 miles per hour. I told him to drive it home and we would return it to Palmer Dodge. Thirty minutes later, he called again saying the truck was smoking horribly and I instructed him to pull over and call 9ll...I then called Palmer Dodge where I was told it was probably a little bit of tranmission fluid that was causing it to smoke. Needless to say you can imagine my horror when I turned in to where my son was and the entire truck was on fire! I then called Palmer Dodge who instructed me to have it towed to them...On Monday, my husband went to Palmer Dodge where we were told that it was totally our fault and they were not to blame. They were rude and later that day the head of the service dept. called me and informed me that we owed them for the towing bill. Again, she was also rude and abrupt. Long story short, they ended up having to pay for the entire truck but what a nightmare for our family. Thank heavens that their insurance company is upstanding and has high standards because I can assure they certainly don't. They need to hire people who know what they are doing and take responsibility for their actions. I'm not saying all Dodge Dealerships are this way...I believe it comes from the top and trickles down and at Palmer Dodge in Alpharetta, Georgia it is apparent that they don't care about the customers because if they did, they would hire competent employees and accept responsibility when they are at fault. I would never, ever recommend this dealership for service.
