2. I read mpg is now 4 mpg more vs gen 5 overall, which at $3.6 per gallon gas, would be approx. $2,300 for 100,000 miles. Pretty significant. 3. The engine was a 2.4L up through 2009. In 2010, it went to a completely different 2.5L. I have driven both A LOT- the 2.5L is much better. For the 2012, they made minor changes to get a bit better mpg. But ... Read More

Well, one person with this problem makes some say "So much for reliable Toyotas?" There are going to be problems with a new generation car, from ANY manufacturer. What mpg do you get in the city with the Toyota Camry (2010 to 2012)?
This thread is started as an informational thread only. I had the external oil hose that has been identified by Toyota as a recall (however, I am not sure if it was an 'official' recall, as I never received notification beforehand) replaced in Sept 2010, on my 2008 Camry . On Thanksgiving day, 2011, my car started making a weird clicking noise. Long story short, the 'replaced' oil hose had blown ... Read More

Toyota changed over to synthetic oil for the 2010-11 Camry. Concurrent with the change, oil change intervals have been increased to 10K miles or one year, whichever occurs first. Well I was at the dealer for oil change because the light for maintenance was on and I was closed to 5,000 miles. Well since the actual prices seem to be a bit contested, I'll just say this, if a loaded Sonata turbo with NAV is 30k MSRP that's a bargain. You don't give enough info to make an assessment, don't know what options/features you have. Take your MSRP, and compare to a vehicle at www.fitzmall.com. You should seriously think about a 2011 at this point. A 2010 has already depreciated a year as soon as you drive it across the dealership curb. At some point when you go to sell it, or something happens insurance-wise....it's worth substantially less.

Doesn't sound like a good deal at all. On Dec 21 I purchased a 2010 Toyota Camry LE (4 cylinder) with alloy wheels for $20,500 OTD(!) in Raleigh, NC. If you email me, I will let you know contact info for the salesman. Allan777@aol.com PS: My experience tells me that it costs Toyota dealerships $ to give you the special financing deal and therefore a lot of them are reluctant to ... Read More
"Toyota recommend 6months/5K miles for all their Vehicles because they were afraid of the sludge problem in the past. Toyota Cars in Japan get 10K intervals too. " If Toyota in Japan gets the 10K intervals, do you think that's because of some people in the US not paying attention to oil change intervals, which can cause sludge in any car? Very interesting, as the 2010 Camry requires 6 month/5K AND ... Read More
ntassistant - I have a 2010 4 cyl Camry. I'm not sure about the rollback thing, but if I don't really baby the accelerator when going from a full stop, it lurches forward. I have learned to accept and adapt to it. Same thing in reverse. If I park on an incline - front downwards - I can't get it going in reverse without a lurch. Extremely annoying and alarming. I ... Toyota recommend 6months/5K miles for all their Vehicles because they were afraid of the sludge problem in the past. Toyota Cars in Japan get 10K intervals too. I heard recently that Toyota will up the interval for 2010 US Models to 10K. But make sure you get the notification from the Toyota dealer before you change to the 10K interval.

After using RainX and changing wipers, the problem remains. I have 07 Camry, which didn’t have this problem. After the original windshield was replaced by a Toyota OEM one in spring 2009, I started having difficulties driving in rainy ... Read More

Hi. I am new to this forum, but I am in a quandry over which car to choose! I currently own a Honda Accord Special edition 2002. We also have a Honda Civic 2003 so I would say we have been okay with Hondas. However, we decided to look at both the 2011 Honda Accord and the Camry this weekend.
