Doesn't sound like that good a deal. You can buy a used 2005/2006 for maybe $11,500 with 10,000 miles on it + a warranty, so do the math.

"... don't think you get any more power out of an xA or xB with high octane." The ball is in your court on the issue of whether the engine makes 5 more HP on high octaine. Let's see if we agree that these are facts: 1. The 2005 xB was advertised by Scion to make: 108 hp @ 6000 rpm 105 ft-lb @ 4200 rpm 2. The 2006 xB was ... Read More

The engines and 5 speed were completely replaced in the Focus starting in 2003 when the 2.3 PZEV motor jointly developed by Ford and Mazda was rolled out in "green" states in the hatchbacks. In 2004 the same motor was rolled out nationally (only PZEV in green states), but displacement dropped to 2.0. Still, HP jumped 6.0 over the prior Zetec (in non-green states - in green states you got PZEV ... Read More

When I removed the glove compartment on my 2005 XA to access the cabin filter, I found no filter in the filter holder. Has anyone found a cabin filter? I've been told by Scion that the cabin filter is an option. Therefore, it was not installed at the factory.

Hi all I just bought a 2005 silver xa, on my first complete tank I averaged 36 mpg in mixed city and freeway driving( L.A. freeway traffic jam conditions),for a car with only 300 miles on it im very happy.I traded my Suzuki Aerio for this car,I liked the Aerio but questionable reliability reports caused me to trade it for the Scion. The Scion is a vastly superior car you can feel ... To funny. Some get great mileage some dont. Gas mileage depends on more than the sticker on the window. It depends on tire sixe(like 15" wheels vs 18" wheels),tpye of gas used (87 gets the most mileage v 89 or 93 ,because its whats the cars are designed for 87). Type of driving style etc. Mine(06 scion xa auto) has under 1600 miles on it .1st tank 30mpg,2nd tank 34 mpg, third tank ... Read More

I bought a scion after finding out about it from a website about "green cars". The "great mileage" was a selling point for me. I have been so disappointed that I have yet to get even close to the stated mileage. My average is 28. (with lots of city driving) Once I went a tank without using A/C and got 30. I am planning a long driving trip next month and ... Read More

I've posted on several of the other topics in the Scion forums, but never checked out this, the main room, until now. I picked up my 2006 Black Cherry xB about 3 weeks ago, trading a 1997 Buick Regal Turbo. Still loving every chance to drive my Scion, which is about my seventh Toyota (and as many Buicks, with a few other makes thrown in in 35+ years of driving). I'm ... Read More

seem like a Yugo. The xA is a really nice car, with distinct looks to it that looks absolutely awesome in Release Series form. Those cars are great looking, plus you would be getting great resale value and legendary Toyota build quality. I am still watching Scion but am sorta interested in what Toyota brings to the table next year for the Echo, or Yaris, or Vitz, or whatever they decide. ... Read More

I stopped by a dealer in the town I'm working in now that has tC's and xA's out in the lot. They were closed so I just browsed around the cars and peeked in the windows for a bit. Here's some thoughts of mine minus the all-important test driving. The Scion tC they had on the lot in Azure Pearl is quite striking. They also had a RS 1.0 tC but ... Read More

I thoroughly enjoyed my xA in the approximately 10,000 miles I owned it. Crash tests indicate it is quite good, and with SIDE air bags will be better than most cars on the road (since side curtain air bags are so critical in any side crash due to the closeness of the head to the side of the car). The current model is super fine. If you care about such things, ... Read More

marketing question here. Would you buy another Scion(of any model)? For instance, Scion will be putting out the xA RS 2.0 in blue in May 2005. That red RS 1.0 looked great and total cost before T&L was only $15,200 or dollars to that effect somewhere. That's a good deal because the RS xA's already come tricked out nicely straight-from-the-factory, know what I mean? I'll be looking at the 2.0's when ... Read More

No, its probably costing me. The trade in's aren't so bad - - I buy really really cheap (easy to do these days) and negotiate hard on the trade-in. For example, I bought the V6 Mustang, stick, on an advertised special for $13,000 - much less than the $18,000 sticker. Two years later, I traded it in for $9700 on the Neon, which was discounted $3,800 (rebate plus dealer dough). I ... Read More
