"The GL-Class was once intended to replace the comparatively ancient and crude G-Class (a.k.a. Gelaendewagen), but Mercedes found enough of a following for the military-spec box on wheels that it will continue to produce the G in small numbers." Not sure what that translates to in US sales. The 2007 Mercedes Benz GL450 will be in USA dealerships by April! Since it is unique and is NOT replacing the G, why doesn't it have it's own discussion thread! C'mon Edmunds! ;) Thanks!
