2014 Mazda CX-5: Slow Satellite Radio

It's not consistent, but occasionally when I turn on the 2014 Mazda CX-5's satellite radio 20 to 30 seconds pass before there's actually any sound. Based on the fact that the radio loses signal so easily, I think it's just poor reception.

But that's too long, right?

Yes 20-30 seconds is way too long. My 07 Audi drops is signal going under overpasses and takes 5ish seconds to re-acquire signal. My 13 Dodge seems to get even better/more solid reception with quicker connection. I like new Mazdas, request a extended test or long termer Mazda3 loaded up sedan please.

I think the Mazda6 Diesel would be a perfect fit for the next long term test.. but my sat radio in my Mazda6 gas version doesn't take that long, the signal does drop out more than it should but startup isn't 30 seconds.

I recall seeing a note from SiriusXM suggesting the sat radio be turned off prior to entering garages - or places where signal loss will occur.
