2014 Mazda CX-5: For-Real Sun Visors

July 24, 2013

2014 Mazda CX-5

This is what the 2014 Mazda CX-5's driver's side sun visor looks like in its fully deployed position. There's full coverage to the side thanks to that pull-out plastic panel. It is excellent.

That's pretty good - I tend to like the slidey ones in VWs because they're simpler and don't look as clunky, but this is fine, no question.

  • It is funny Dan Edmunds didn't like the sun visors: http://www.edmunds.com/mazda/cx-5/2014/long-term-road-test/2014-mazda-cx-5-less-than-perfect-sun-visors.html But I guess that is why it is nice to get different opinions from different drivers.

I suppose that's because Dan Edmunds is American-tall while Josh is Japanese-tall.

  • Oh, come on... you KNOW the sun will somehow spend most of its time in that gap between the visor extension and the doorframe above. Because that's what always happens! :P

The 2012 Mazda6 had ones that slid the whole visor out. I preferred those.

Funny, another driver in this road test said it was the worse visor ever made with NO coverage.
