These are good questions, Gloria1960, Warranty coverage on the 2008 H3, as your service department states, does indeed cover the cylinder head. However, the fuel injector does not fall under the warranty, nor does maintenance. If you would like for us to assist you in working with the dealership, we would be happy to do so. Please email us more information, including your name, the last 8 digits of your H3's ... Read More

My 2008 H3 at 42k miles is at GM dealership. Running rough at idle but Onstar diagnostic did not catch when I asked them to check engine. Now dealership says its the cylinder head and replaced it under warranty. Also said to do the oil change, clean throttle and fuel injector for a total of $350. Anyone else having cylinder head issues? Should they have included the "cleaning" under warranty when ... Read More

Hello, New here. Just bought my 2008 H3 Alpha and am thinking about putting a locking gas door on it. All I have seen either require drilling holes or using 2 sided tape to install it. I know GM does not offer one but I was wanting a door that just uses the existing screws and just take off the stock one and replace it with a locking one. Glad to ... Read More

You bought or leased? This is the H3 leasing forum. If you leased, your buyout may not be really as bad as you think. If it is a 2008, how many lease payments do you have remaining? GMAC allows you to buyout the lease with just the depreciation portion of the lease payment multiplied by the number of payments left on your contract. Your payment IS EXTREMELY HIGH but that $610 ... Read More

As you can see, GMAC publishes lease rates instead of money factors for the vehicles that it leases. Hi addisonmb. General Motors is currently providing $1,050 lease cash and $1,000 bonus cash ($2,050 total) on all 2008 Hummer H3 models. It has an additional $1,000 cash incentive on Alpha models that have been sitting on dealer lots for a long time. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum

Car_man, I'm looking at doing a SmartLease or SmartBuy on a 2008 H3 (haven't decided between base or alpha right now). When I use the GMAC lease tool on the Hummer site it automatically includes a $1,750 manufacturer's allowance. Do you know if this includes the $1,000 lease rebate that Edmunds has listed in the incentives area or is this in addition to the rebate? Thanks

Hi jf7227. GMAC's lease rate is the same for 24 and 36 months, but the 36 month term will provide you with a lower monthly payment because it enables you to spread the large initial depreciation hit that new vehicles experience out over a larger number of payments. Let's work up a sample lease payment on this truck for you and see what we come up with. The Hummer H3 Alpha ... Read More

Any chance of a V8 or 6 Cylinder for the H3?

  • 2008 H3 with a V8

    Written by: 4burb on May 3, 2007 8:13:20 AM

Just the messenger here but according to my Car and Driver magazine that came this week the 2008 H3 Alpha edition will come with a version of GMs 5.3 V8. The Alpha edition is Hummer's performance line according to the article and in this case should have about 275 HP. Also according to the article should be arriving this summer.

Welcome Mark. 5 cylinders is sort of different. You could always go this route if more HP is what you are after: Geiger Hot-Rods the Hummer H3 up to 325 Horses I've seen scuttlebutt for a V8 next summer or for 2008. Nothing reliable though.
