I had the exact same issue on my 94 as well. Found the harness was rubbing on the pass side tie rod end. Would kill motor when turning tight right or it would go into limp. Cut harness added wire and shrink tube, wrapped in tape and tube with a couple of wire ties here and there - no issues ever again! Dealer wanted 2500 for tranny.........Think it cost me $15 ... I had this problem with my first 94. The wiring harness for the wires running to the top of the tranny was part of a recall to keep them off of the top tie rod on the passenger side. The repair had been done on my car but, Chrysler's are knownfor not having the best covering on their wires and on a couple of my wires the covering had cracked and ... Read More

My 1994 LHS is having a new problem. My abs and air bag lights are steady on and my power windows are not working as well as my air/heat panel. no power to that display as well. Spark plug wires or plugs are a possibility. However I was trying to tie this into the overheating. I should reassure the owner, that these are very good vehicles and well worth the trouble and expense to set up properly. There is no perfect vehicle. All vehicles become known for certain problems. These vehicles are known for certain problems, and a lot less than most. Problems: - Intake manifold gasket problems ... Read More

I have done a net search, and this problem has not been solved by replacing the above three modules. However there are a bunch of grounds under the battery case that can go bad and cause this and a a cluster of grounds you have to remove the central dash to get to, that can corrode. It seems this problem is most likely to be a grounding issue.

I have had a good look at the wiring diagrams. The gauges are driven from the Body Control module. The power control module sends signals to the Body control module and the transmission control module. My best guess is that the power control or transmission control modules are at fault, but I suppose it could be the body control module as all these seem to be intimately related. This is probably ... Read More

Re: 1994 Chrysler LHS rough idle [tsurnick]

I got the Idle air control valve today and installed it. I am also going to try the trick with the carb cleaner, spraying it near the intake manifold. The idle air control valve seemed to bring the idle back up where it needed to be. I will give it a good drive tomorrow to see if the hesitation is still there. It would kind of choke sometimes when the engine ... Read More

I also have a 94 LHS and I have had the rough idle problem my Self. I have been talking to a few different mechanics and I am semi confident the problem may be the Idle air Control Valve. The valve runs about 70 dollars in most auto parts stores. I should have one next week. I think that may fix the problem.

fastdriver -- 7/70 warranty
Written by: mileshoover on Feb 4, 2004 7:14:26 PM
Gotta disagree with your last that there was no 7/70 warranty on the '99 LHS. Took delivery of mine in April 1998 and was offered my choice of 3/36 or 7/70. Since the 7/70, at that time, included only 1/12 along with it on items other than the drive train, I opted to get the 3/36 warranty. Probably most other buyers did the same due to that skimpy additional coverage. We ... Read More

My prior inquiry was #369. I'd like to hear about problems with your 1994 LHS. At this point, we're not planning on buying another Chrysler because of steering/front end problems that have been ongoing since day one. Also, we're not happy with having to wear earplugs as we travel down the highway. The road noise is much more than we bargained for. We are looking at a Marquis as a possible ... Read More
