2013 Cadillac ATS: Best Shift Paddles Ever?

November 29, 2013

I might not love CUE, but Cadillac did get the 2013 ATS's shift paddles right. They are placed well, sized right and offer both precision and perfect effort in use. Their throw is short and the transmission's response is quick. Though they don't feel mechanical, they do produce a sense of solidity as you toggle through the gears.

Better than the 911's, GT-R's, or 370z/G37's? If yes, than it's an accomplishment.

  • Has anyone else heard that GM is working on a DSG for the Corvette and probably the CTS-V?

Another amazing, informative (this time 4 sentence!) "article". No mention of the material quality or if they are actually better than other examples of paddle shifters.

  • My vote for best paddle shifters goes to the outgoing G37 and new Q50. They are real magnesium and leather, are long enough to be accessed from above or below the steering wheel spoke, and are anchored to the steering column like all shift paddles should be. My two cents.
