3/7/2017 I recently purchased a car from Dallas Lease Returns. I was told they only sell the best of cars, and that they all go through a thorough inspection. My agent was Afton Starks, who was a friendly and diligent sales person and did all the groundwork and verification that i asked for. She picked me up at the airport and the car appeared to be all it was promised. I purchased the car and drove it home. After got home, i did the usual look under the hood to check the air filter, oil filter, fluid levels etc. I noticed immediately that the battery had been replaced and a new one was installed. There was a noticeable amount of batter acid damage and powder (oxidation) on everything around the battery. The ground cable had no insulation, when i took out the air filter, it was eaten up by acid and falling apart to pieces. The air box was mushy and soft from the acid accumulation and distorted slightly. When i pulled the battery out, i noticed that it was right on top of the fuse box/ wiring harness. I cant see into the fuse box, but the main wiring harness, all the wires are bare with no insulation on them. I also noticed some brake noise on the way home. I called Dallas Lease Returns and was told i had a 30 day 3k mile warranty and to take it to a repair shop. I took my Ford to a Ford dealer and told them what was wrong and to check the brakes and the rest of the car. The Brakes pads were into the Rotors on the front , and the pads replaced and the rotors turned. The wiring harness though everything is still working, i was told it should be replaced, as its not a matter of if it fails, but when. Of course neither of these items are covered under the warranty. Dallas Lease Returns told me sorry but too bad. So as with most cars, i can say buyer beware of these guys. They told me it passed a Texas Inspection, how does a car pass inspection with brake pads into the rotors? STAY CLEAR
