Dealership Service Review

1 out of 5 starsservice Rating
Not the Land Rover technicians or professionalism I am used to.
Written by Land Rover Owner on 08/14/2021
I don't do reviews, however this is merited for the greater good. I dropped of my Land Rover off for a simple oil change, new rear view mirror and new windshield. They sold me a nine-point check and suggested the serpentine belt was warn and should be replaced. Forty miles later, I lost power steering, battery light came on and my Land Rover seized as a large tractor trailer traveling 80 miles an hour was headed directly at me. It was terrifying. The $400+ serpentine belt had disintegrated and shredded because the technician did not tighten the tensioner after installing the belt. Belt pieces needed to be removed from behind pulleys. It damaged the front crank seal, pull belt tensioner and the power steering pulley shaft had come out of the front of the pump that was now no longer lined up with other pulleys. The $900+ rear view mirror completely blurred within days. The only thing that was done correctly was the windshield installation. Had to have the shredded belt and tensioner pulley removed, front crack seal replaced, and the power steering pump replaced. I contacted the service manager for a full refund and reimbursement of costs for damage and repair and was shockingly challenged and then completely ignored. I am used to superior technicians and customer service from Land Rover dealerships from coast to coast. Technicians who have kept my Land Rover in excellent condition and dealers who valued my business. Neither existed in this transaction. It was a colossal disaster, and a very stressful and costly experience that I must put further resources into in order to get it resolved.
