Yes, it is possible to have a stress free used car shopping experience. With a few high pressure and even unethical experiences in my past I didn't think it was likely. However, thanks to Joseph Macbale, a salesman at Rustom Nissan of Portland I was very surprised and happy with my experience. Joseph went above and beyond the typical salesman duties. He made me feel more like I was working with a friend instead of someone who just wanted my money! He was more than willing to answer all of my questions and spend as much time as necessary to make sure I was comfortable.
