Worst Dealer to buy the car - very dishonest
Written by rahulg on 03/02/2010
I had worst experience of my life buying a VW EOS convertible for my wife. I had worked out and finalized the deal with the VW sales mgr Grant White. But when I went to the dealership to buy the car along with my wife, he changed the terms of the deal that I had worked out before with him. There was a small paint damage which was new to them as we also didnt know about it but it wouldnt have costed more than $ 500 to fix it. He used it as a primary excuse to reduce the trade in of car by $ 1000. And then also lowered the mileage of lease to 12 k from 15 k that I had agreed with him to earn more money from me. I never have had such a flimsy sales experience in my life and left with such a bad taste from the dealership with my wife whom I had promised the car!! Add to that he is such a glib talker that he will try and sell you a 2009 instead of 2010 in front of your wife to earn more money. He will also give you a assurance which looks fake in the voice itself but you might believe it wrongly as I did. Never trust this dealership and never ever trust this sales manager if you are looking for a good deal and also a long term relationship with a dea

Below are the facts. · The customer represented to the dealer that his trade-in was, "Perfect, it is a nine on a scale from 1 to 10 (1 being junk and 10 being new)." · Mr. White told the customer, "All figures are contingent on a final evaluation of your trade-in due to never seeing your vehicle." (For this exact reason - see below) · The trade-in came to the dealership with damage on both quarter panels that would require bodywork and paint repairs. · When the customer arrived at the dealership the customer stated, "The damage must have just happened" and that he "Knew nothing about the damage". · The customer did not want the EOS that was originally discussed and wanted the dealership to locate a different EOS with more equipment (Navigation System), for the same price. · The customer wanted to negotiate a 15k lease instead of the 12k lease and wanted this change for the same price. · The customer was told the EOS with Navigation System would be more money than the EOS previously discussed and the mileage increase to the lease would make the payment increase as well. · The customer became upset when the damage was discovered on his trade-in, which made the value of the trade-in less than previously talked about over the phone when the vehicle was represented as "perfect". Northtowne VW has been in business since 1985 and Grant White has been with Northtowne since 2002. Northtowne VW and Mr. White display honesty and integrity with every vehicle transaction and have done so for many years. Please feel free to call the dealership and ask any questions you may have.
