I wanted to email and tell you about our experience tonight. We called and arranged to see Derek. My husband and I were trying to decide between the Highlander & Rav4. I spoke with Derek and he agreed to stay late to help us. I told him that we would call when we were on our way and that my family would still need to get dinner tonight and have my husband to work by 9pm in Bethalto, IL. I also explained that we were driving from Godfrey, IL. I explained that we would be bringing my parents and son. I told him that my son was 5 and had Autism & that we needed to make sure that we get the vehicle that was best for him. We arrived at about 5:50pm. We had called on the way and told Derek we were in route. I had given him the information about my van and asked for a rough idea of the trade in value. He said he would have that information by the time we got there. He greeted us and showed us both vehicles. We decided on the Rav4. My dad liked it so much too that he asked Derek to look for 2. Derek agreed and we head back inside. On the way in, Derek started talking the another gentlemen about a truck. Derek put us in front of the tv (Wheel of Fortune was just starting.) and told us that someone was coming right over. At the end of Wheel of Fortune & having talked to no one, I went to located Derek. He was no where to be found. We decided to leave. I told the young lady to tell Derek that we waited for 30 minutes with nothing & had decided to leave. As we were leaving, we saw Derek in a truck with this other guy trying to sell him a truck. HE DITCHED US!!!!!!!! I can't believe this happened. We were there first and had made arrangements to see Derek. There were other salesmen available. We wasted 30 minutes of our time on nothing. I was never given any information on my trade. No vehicle was ever located for me. I don't appreciate having my time & gas wasted in such a manner. I also don't appreciate being ditched!!!!!!!! My sale and business should be just as important to anyone else's. Believe me, I will let my friends and family know what has happened. You also lost a second potential sale tonight from my parents. I run a support group for families dealing with Autism. I always let them know about how we are treated and the accommodations that our made for our kids. I don't know if my business is not as important as a man's or if my son's Autism was the problem. To be honest, I really don't care at this point. Derek could have let someone else help us. We were his responsibility!!!!!!!!!!! I am looking very forward to our appointment tomorrow afternoon to get a Rav4. I hope his truck sale was worth it:( Derek never even bothered to call my cell after we left to even attempt to apologize!!!!!!!!!! I really don't even have the words to express my anger and disappointment. I have never written a review on line of any business, but I am certainly going to invest my time tonight doing just that. I hope the time is taken to read this email. I am sure you will find this same information in my review of our experience. PSalvato
