I was told that I needed all new spark plugs after completing a diagnostic check. This was not the case as I had the same exact problem the very next morning. This time when I returned my vehicle I was told I need a part for my Transmission now costing me $2700.00. Now I am out the $450 for the spark plugs and the test and still have to pay extra for the actual work needed. Thank you, Russ Chapman [contact info removed]

Dealer Response
Thank you for the review. Please know we strive for service excellence with every visit to our facility. Your concern regarding a drivability issue and the vehicle’s computer not registering any codes or picking up any miss-fires lead us first to the Spark Plugs. Your particular make and model vehicle is known for “ghost drivability concerns” when the plugs show wear. We pulled them to visually inspect them, the electrodes were worn and required replacement. This is the first step in this type of repair process, as well as needed maintenance at 100,000 miles. We understand your concern and frustration regarding the diagnosis after your drivability issue continued, but we can assure you the spark plugs were needed at this point. Without having replaced the spark plugs first, we would not have been able to come to the conclusion that there is a transmission issue. Because of this, and the estimate to repair of $2,700, we submitted for a policy adjustment with General Motors on your behalf. We received good news from General Motors this morning regarding the request. GM has agreed to participate in the repairs, leaving only a Co-Pay for you of $1,569.35 which is a net savings to you of $1,130.65 if the repairs are completed in the next 30 days. We will need to order parts, which are available to us within about 1 business day. We will also supply you with a no-cost rental vehicle to drive while we complete the repairs to your transmission. We have tried to reach out to you this morning to tell you about this news with no luck. Please contact our Service Manager, Duane F. Hill at 815.459.4000 to arrange for the needed repairs to your vehicle. Thank you for your business and for giving us the opportunity to “clear the air” on your issue. We hope to hear back from you soon.
