knowingly selling car w/o gas or oil gauges working
Written by 07/15/2018
onI bought a 2004 Chevy SSR from Five Star Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Warner Robins. When I test drove the vehicle, I noticed the gas gauge was in the empty range. I mentioned this to my salesman and he looked at the gauge and said I should be okay for a test drive. My wife and I drove the vehicle for a short while, because I was afraid I would give out of gas. We got back to dealership and I liked the vehicle. Not noticing that the oil gauge was set on a reading of normal. After completing a trade of 2006 Chevy Silverado for $3000 Trade in and $6,000 Cash, I signed the papers to buy the SSR. Let me mention my Silverado work truck had less than 50k miles on it. The SSR had less than 49K miles on it. After a week I noticed the oil and fuel gauges weren't working. I contend that the dealership knew about the gauge problems and knowingly still sold me the SSR anyway. I keep a regular check of the oil and make sure it is a the proper level. I keep check of my gas by the trip meter and low fuel warning light. This is simply a bad way to conduct business. The year before I bought a new Jeep Renegade 2016 from this dealership and was happy with the deal so I figured I would be safe dealing with them again. Boy was I wrong. I would not buy anything else from them, they are unethical.
