Dealership Sales Review

Most Deceptive and Rude Dealership
Written by Carpathius on 02/29/2016
This is the single most corrupt, rude, and deceptive dealership I have ever worked with. I will never recommend anyone visit or work with this dealership. I am sorry in advance for this long review, but I do not want anyone to fall into their traps. Here is my story. I had selected a 2016 Hyundai Tucson for my wife. When I got the invoice for the car discussing prices I noticed something strange. The MSRP for the car was $1,100 higher than the MSRP on the window sticker. I asked what the reasoning for the difference was. I was informed that $99 of the $1,100 was for oil changes for life at their service center. This I agree is a good deal, but regardless make it visible on the invoice and don’t try and hide it in the MSRP on the invoice. The remaining difference in the MSRPs was for the PRE-application of Resitol. I asked the Salesman what Resitol was and he informed me that Resitol protects the car from stains on the inside and outside of the car. If you tear the leather or as the dealership said “acid rain melts the paint,” the dealership would replace the leather or paint, but they won’t fix scratches to the outside of the car, which is significantly more likely to happen. Additionally, the dealership will only fix any problem if you get a second application of Resitol! I asked the Sales Manager how much this costs and he informed me it costs an additional $700. So for the dealership to actually fix anything they expect you to pay an additional $700, but even if you don’t want or need the warranty you are still expected to pay for the pre-application of Resitol. It is essentially $1,000 of zero benefit to most consumers. Not only do they expect you to pay for it they try to hide the amount in the MSRP on the invoice. The next issue on the on the invoice was a line item for “Aftermarket Financed Additions” in the amount of $400. I inquired of the Salesman as to what this amount was for and he stated it is part of the dealership incentives similar to the Resitol “deal,” but I never got a specific explanation as to what it was. I told the Sales Manager that I didn’t want to pay for the Resitol pre-application and whatever other dealership incentive deals there were as I wasn’t going to be using or needing them. He said he would work on a deal where I wouldn’t have to pay for them and how here could get me the best possible deal. After spending all this time at the dealership I let the Sales Manager know I had a walk out price from AutoNation Hyundai that included all fees and sales taxes that if they could match the offer I would buy from them since I was already there. After 40 minutes of “working on his best offer” the Sales Manager comes down and offers me the car for $1,200 more than the final AutoNation price (The exact amount of the dealer incentives, despite him saying he was going to be removing them). Additionally, I noticed that the “Discounts” line item on the invoice had been increased to make it appear that he was giving me a better deal, but what he expected me to not see was the line item “Aftermarket Financed Additions” was also increased. He again tried to bake the incentives in and make it seem like they weren’t there. When I declined the offer, he went into a lecture of how the deal he was offering me was costing them $808, and the deal AutoNation was offering me wasn’t real and instead was used to just get me in the door. My wife asked why they couldn’t match the offer the Sales Manager replied in an extremely rude tone that he always makes money on customers and we should feel honored to get such a good deal from them. The Manager then proceeded to usher me and my wife out the door and said in an extremely hateful way “When you come back and you will, you won’t be getting as good of an offer as the one I just offered you.” The following day I went to AutoNation and got the deal they had promised me for $1,200 less than the “best” Hyundai of Kennesaw could do. It didn’t come with any hidden “dealer incentives” either. I highly recommend them as they are honest and friendly and easy to deal with. [HTML removed]
