onI bought a used '07 Tacoma in May of '07. One of the unusual features was a cruise control which the salesman mentioned because it didn't have other power options such as doors and windows. I traveled to SC the following month and I remember using the cruise because the control was a little unusual. I had to push two buttons at the same time to shut it off. Also, I thought the truck was shifting when it was going up a slight incline. I didn't have occasion to use it for the next few months, and when I did the cruise didn't work. I took it in for service and was told it never worked because "brains" weren't even there. It was supposedly added by the previous owner. Since I bought the truck with the knowledge that it had a cruise (by my own observation as well as the salesman's comment) I felt it should be covered by the Platinum Warranty which I paid extra for. I called and talked to the manager of the dealership and he backed up the service dept's statement that it never had a cruise. Whether it did or not it should have been covered by the warranty since it was sold to me "with a cruise". They finally offered to install a cruise for something under $300 and I refused. As far as I'm concerned, I was ripped off!
