Not happy!

I was very disappointed in my recent visit to Bert Smith BMW. First off I deal with the same advisor and do understand that this is not his fault as I told him. But the long and short of it is... randomly I began hearing a thumping in the back drivers side door area, sounding like someone hitting on a microphone, a sound you would think you would hear from a faulty speaker. All of this is listed in the description on my paperwork upon arriving for service. I was told that it would be a $229.00 diagnosis fee. Fine. I dropped the vehicle off Wed 8:30AM...I had correspondence with my advisor during the day basically stating no obvious cause being found...no fault codes stored to pinpoint them in any direction, so having to test each module. When I brought it in I wondered if it could be the amplifier, but was told when that goes bad it will have communication faults stored and that is not the case. It was there all day...and when nothing had been finalized at days end, advisor said they would keep looking the next day and should be able to diagnose by then. I left the vehicle overnight. On Thursday I called at 3pm to get an update. They had found nothing to this point, however, now stated that it could be the back speaker but to find out I would need to pay another $350 for them to remove the door panel to investigate. I asked advisor why they had not started with looking at the speaker but evidently they have to look at other things first. (Not clear on that). Speakers are not in stock so even if I chose to have the door panel removed the speaker wouldn't be put in till one was ordered. I picked my vehicle up without repair. I was just totally frustrated that two days later I was back to square one after not having my vehicle for two days which as everyone knows is a hectic thing in itself. I also feel that after not finding anything with the first diagnosis fee, I am not guaranteed that after spending yet another $350.00 the problem may still not be resolved and further diagnosis is needed adding further money to find the issue. Without knowing anything about vehicles a speaker or something with the audio system seems to be the obvious just based on the sound. I feel like two days of searching provided no results...after paying a diagnosis fee and now more money is needed to continue figuring out the problem. I am still driving my vehicle with a loud popping noise in the back. I turn the radio off...it comes on by itself and randomly startles you as you are driving as the loud sound emits from the rear randomly. I get out of the vehicle...turn it off...walk away and still hear the loud popping noise coming from the vehicle. How many diagnosis fees must you pay to figure out the problem. For all I know it may not be the speaker at all...but have no clue. Unfortunately I have never had this happen at this dealer where I purchased my vehicle but feel in this case that I dealt with a random small unprofessional car repair shop.
