New Hyundai Genesis turned Nightmare
Written by Chrboo89 on 01/14/2017
Bought a brand new 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe RSPEC. About at 30K car off the lot without upgrades. We test drive it and it was a dream. Perfect. Car salesman did his job well selling the car and the factory warranty. About three months in and the problems can pouring in. Shift linkage went bad, transmission replaced at 20K miles on a brand new car, two lights, truck fixed twice for water leaking into my vechicle. After about a year is when you could tell the vechicle are made with the cheapest parts, metals and plastics possible. The cheapskate plastics started making creeping sounds constantly, which doesn't seem that bad until your in a car for two hours a day. On top of it all the customer service was well below Parr. The dealership would NEVER offer a courtesy car when I was inconvenienced of being out of my vechicle for things through no fault of my own were malfunctioning and covered under the warranty. The only time I received one is when they replaced the transmission which took three weeks. And in that time they never called once to give me status updates on the car so I literally had no clue what was going on. I spent more time in that waiting room then even was able to use my own vehicle. I previously own other vehicles and it was standard practice that the dealership would OFFER a courtesy car if it was going to take longer than an hour, even for an oil change. They take no ownership and the answer I always got was "things break." Cars are made cheaply becuase they can fix them cheaply. If you want quality look to Honda, Acura or Toyota. Not only will you get a better car if you happen to have an issue they will remedy the situation so you can go on with your life while your car is being fixed. If you but a car here expect to be in the dealership a lot. Expect no follow to through. And be prepared for it to cost you a lot of time and money. Hopefully I can save someome the headaches and inconvience that I've had to endure.
