Cracked cap during oil change

onI got my oil changed right before Memorial Day for maintenance and for an upcoming road trip with my husband and new born baby. Luckily that trip went ok, but not even a month afterwards my car stopped working. I took it to a mechanic and he said I had a massive oil leak and someone had replaced the cap with a cheap one that was completely cracked. Looking back to the day I was serviced at Toyota, it took forever and they didn’t try to sell me anything, which is abnormal for them. It now feels as if they wanted to get me out after they tried to fix a mistake they made rather than being honest. I’m only writing this review for the danger this could have caused and lack of honesty I feel I received from the dealership.
