Purchases a quality vehicle from a quality dealership
Written by goodstuff35 on 01/20/2012
So here's my situation... I went through some bad times in late 2009 and had to file bankruptcy. The bankruptcy was discharged in 2010. It's 2012 and I want to start building my credit again beyond a few credit cards I keep a low balance on. I wanted a Kia Soul + because a good friend of mine bought a 2010 and it's been a great vehicle for him. He bought his from Lee Johnson Kia (They have chevys and Mazdas too). He got a good deal and a fairly good interest rate since he was also credit challenged. I walked in with my partner and met a sales guy named Ron Paul. I just flat out told him. I want to buy a Soul, this is how much I want to pay a month and for how long..and by the way I've had a bankruptcy 2 years ago and this is my partner ... So he knew he was dealing with a dude with a discharged bankruptcy who's gay and here is his partner who want to be able to be in on the questions and the deal... I was treated with total respect and not that kind of respect you give someone just cause you don't give a crap cause you want to sell a car. Ron and all the guys I was introduced to treated me with enough respect to turn a republican in his grave These guys are totally a class act! I did not go through the BS and games sales guys go through to mess with your head. I got a 9.8% interest rate which blew my mind. I put 1500 bucks down and traded in a piece of crap 2000 neon that was my partners car. They made a LOT of calls to get me the best interest rate they could. I even bought the extended warranty which my Dad told me to never do. I think part of me just liked doing business with them so much I just did it. I drove out with a Kia Soul with all the bells and whistles...and hamsters...extended warranty, tax license and 10 year full extended warranty for about 20 grand. I'll be returning to Lee Johnson Kia when my partner and I look for our next vehicle!
