poor business practices
Written by 03/10/2017
onI was working with Ron Coleman to buy a used car. I couldn't get there until the weekend for a test drive, so I asked what it would take to hold the car for me (to make sure I'd have the chance to buy it), and I was told a deposit would do that. On Tuesday I gave the deposit, and made plans to test drive Saturday, which I communicated to them. I also spoke with Ron's manager, and assured him I intended to buy the car.
On Friday morning, I received an email from Ron saying he had sold the car to someone else. There was no communication before this to ask if I was coming.
This is a completely unacceptable business practice. It's okay to say "We don't hold cars, and we will sell to the first ready buyer," but I was told a deposit would hold the car for me.
Never do business with these shady characters.
