Sold Me Car With Bad Transmission
Written by 01/09/2017
onI bought a car from Jeffs Motor Cars. The first day I had the car I noticed a major problem with transmission which needs replaced. Jeff's had the car for at least two months prior to selling it to me and somehow they never noticed the obvious transmission problem. My mechanic and two of my local Honda dealers both knew it had a transmission problem within 10 minutes.
Both Honda dealers, my mechanic and two different transmission shops all agree, Jeffs sold me the car knowing it had a bad transmission or have the worst service team ever if they really didn't notice it.
Now, when I get my bonus check from work, instead of taking my wife and kids on vacation like I promised them, i instead have to buy a transmission.
I spoke with multiple people I know in the used car business and all of them said Jeff's could have easily backed this deal out and refunded me.
If your thinking of buying a car at Jeff's Motor Cars, just ask yourself, do you want to buy from a dealership that knowingly operates this way?

Update. I took car to a transmission specialist for rebuild and install. Here is my total cost of repairs diagnosing and solving this problem from the date I bought the car on 11/30/16 to 2/9/17:
$69 - Diagnostics
$286.00 - 3 Transmission drain and fills to try and solve issue. which didn't work.
$74.00 - 2nd opinion diagnostics
$150.00 - For second chip key since Jeff's only gave me 1 key.
$555.00 - For new tensioner that broke 2 days after Jeff's put a new one on when I bought the car. Jeffs only paid for $400 of it because they thought my mechanic was to expensive. The part was only 2 days old.
$3,0000 - rebuilt transmission.
TOTAL: $4,134.00
