Beware of Scam and Poor Service
Written by zeichen on 05/19/2011
Beware of Circle and their service department. I had a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT with a 3.8 liter V-6. I brought it in for a oil change. After the oil change I was told it was time for the 60,000 mile service and also I had a small oil leak that could be fixed with a new gasket. I then left my car overnight and picked it up the next day. That next on the way home from work the engine blew. I brought it back to Circle and they rebuilt it under my extended warranty. Then the next day on my way home from work the engine blew again. I brought it back again to Circle, but this time without my permission they put a junk yard motor in instead of rebuilding my well kept 3.8 liter. I used Shell 89 or 93 octane and Mobile 1 oil from the time I bought the car brand new from Petersen Pontiac in Valpo till this service at Circle. So I asked why they did not rebuild the motor again? The gentleman in the service department stated the extended warranty company would not pay for another rebuild. So I took his word and did not call the extended warranty company to check if that was true. That phone call, if I would have made it would have caught them in a lie. Well I was upset about the motor and that I just wasted $400.00 for the 60,000 mile service and oil change that I didn't even get to use. I later went and traded the 2002 in for a 2006 Grand Prix GXP, which was a bigger mistake. Anyway a year later I received a phone call from the extended warranty company about extending the warranty on the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT again. I told them I traded it in, but then I ask the person on the phone about their policy on rebuilding blown motors and replacing them with junk yard motors. The extended warranty person stated that they never pay for junk yard motors and always pay to have the engine rebuilt, which cost more to do so. So they bought a cheaper motor and kept the rest of the money as profit. Well played Circle, also I bought my next Pontiac Grand Prix $2,000 cheaper at another dealer, from what Circle wanted. Again, buying another General Motors product was a big mistake. I'm sticking to American built Hondas, yes my Honda was built in Alabama, U.S.A.. I have had no problems with the last two I bought or the Honda dealerships who serviced them. Your loss Circle and General Motors, when I buy or lease a new car every 3 to 5 years.
