Car repairs done right
Written by 06/16/2017
onI had an accident in my company parking garage and had a good bit of damage to my passenger side front end. Filed a claim and had the repair work done at the AutoNation collision center (they are a part of the Autonation Nissan company, but operate out of an entirely different location that the actual dealership. Anyway- they fixed the cosmetic damage but after picking it up and while on the way home, I noticed the transmission was slipping. I called the collision center while driving home and let them know that I was experiencing problems with what sounded like the transmission. The Collision center told me to bring it to the Autonation dealership for inspection. Well, within 5 min of hanging up , my car died in the middle of the road. I ended up having it towed to Autonation (the dealership- not the collision center), and called my insurance company to let them know that something was still wrong with my car. They told me to have Autonation do a transmittion tear down to find out whether the issue could be linked to the accident or something else (to determine whether my insurance would cover to fix it or not). I coordinated that with Zack- service manager at autonation Nissan, to get that done. Since that first phone call to Zack, i was kept informed and updated of every step and concern along the inspection, repair process. Insurance wouldn't cover the cost to fix the transmission repair, but Zack assured me during the process that if the insurance company didn't cover it, autonation would- with no charge to me (apparently, something was missed (or not done properly) in the origional body work/repair from my accident at the autonation collision center). True to his and Autonation's word, I did not have to pay anything out of pocket. They replaced the transmission and got me back in my car after one more week or so in the shop. So far- no issues at all the way my car drives. Although the collision center may have missed something- they did a great job with the cosmetic repair. and the Autonation service department (Zack and team) provided great customer service after the issue was discovered.
