Dealership Sales Review

2 out of 5 starssales Rating
Sub-par and uncaring dealership
Written by isend2c on 03/28/2012
My wife and I just started a lease of a 2012 Kia Optima last month at this dealership. When we first got there they let us test drive the car, but not on the route we wanted. We had to use their preset, junk and useless route. They continued to pressure us to get the car that night - and my wife was on their side. I've never bought a car on my first trip to the dealership. It's not a good idea to me. Before we bought the car I asked if we could leave my car there and take the Optima for the night, they said no. I've done extended test drives like that plenty of times. So we got the car that night (past when they closed, by about 20 minutes). It wasn't detailed and it only came with one key and remote. We were told to come back the next day to get the extra two keys (valet and normal) and remote, along with getting the car detailed. We did come back and it took them 2 hours to detail the car. The previous night they said it would take "about 30 minutes". So we waited in the waiting room, which has 2 3 tables, 8 chairs, a TV and a popcorn machine. We didn't get the key then, so they said they'd order it and mail it to us, or we could come pick it up. We asked them to mail it. They didn't. But, a few weeks later the noticed that THEY did the paperwork wrong, so we couldn't pay Kia for the car. So we had to drive back to Salinas (From Monterey) for a 3rd time to redo the paperwork. We waited until 2 days ago, a month after getting the car to get the keys. Guess what? We had to drive to Salinas again. That's the 4th time to simply get the car we should when it's delivered to us. It took them an hour to connect the keys to the car... Seriously? Before we went to get the keys I asked/requested that we be compensated for needing to travel to the dealership so much. So we drove the car until it has 1/10 of a tank and they filled it up. I would be happy about that, but I had to spend so much time and trouble with the dealership that I felt like it was very deserved. Our sales lady, Alex, was nice.
