Deceptive Salesman made car buying experience an ordeal!
Written by chargerbuyer on 04/30/2008
Buying a charger was an ordeal from the start. Salesman Frank Brewer is deceptive. First told me he would give me a deal on a charger with a custom set of rims. When I arrived at the dealership, told me that I could have the deal but they would have to pull the custom rims off the car. Quickly got the salesman to change his mind by turning around to walk out of the dealership. Second told me that they would submit my information to several finance companies to get the best rate for me. When it got time to do the deal offered me an 8.99% rate. Told them that was unacceptable and that I planned to do a down payment on the car. Was told that I could get a rate of 7.99% with down payment. Told them I was going to check elsewhere for financing. After telling them that, they suddenly found a 6.55% rate for me. I ended up going to State Farm and getting a 5.59% rate. All throughout the deal making process, which lasted over a couple of days, I kept asking for the second keyless entry remote key for the charger. Salesman kept assuring me that it was in another person’s office and that he would find it for me. When I got suspect and ask how much a replacement key was he told me $70.00, but again told me that he would find the key. Finished all the paperwork and salesman told me to come back on Monday he would see if he could find the key by then. Returned on Monday to be told key couldn’t be found. So I set up a time to get with service about getting another key. When I showed up at service, they informed me that the key would cost $185. Called salesman back to ask if I could get key cheaper and he said that was dealer cost. When I told him I didn’t think that was right and ask if he could do something for me he offered a non-remote key for $100. When I told him that customer service had just went out the window, he told me that when you buy a program car that there is no guarantee that you would get two remote. Would not recommend dealership because of this salesman and suggest that you not shop at any of the Fletcher auto group dealerships!

I bought a Dodge Charger from them about a year ago and never experienced what you did! You say you bought a program car and they promised a set of rims? I think I hear the bullsh** alarm! No dealer ever promises a set of rims, lol. I used to sell cars a little bit and trust me - promising rims on a USED car is a no-no. I think you're just mad that you didn't get what you wanted - a pretty set of rims, the pink slip price, and a sales person that didn't lick your boots. If you wanted rims, get it in writing. Edward
