  i'm about to lease 2013 jetta se, 39 months, 12K mi/year. dealer has told me maintenance covers 36 months (3 years). my question: is this standard across the board for vw? what happens during the last 3 months of the lease if something needs repair - should i be concerned that the maintenance period falls short of the lease period?

  I would not touch an '04 TDI with an automatic transmission for any amount of money at this time. I've been dealing with a transmission problem since January 2013. I have an 04 Jetta with 178,000 miles. Dealer wanted $5000 to replace with 1 year warranty or $3500 for a junk yard replacement & no warranty. I leased a 2013 VW Jetta with convenience and sunroof candy white color for $250/month with $1,300 out the door for 36 months at 12,000miles/year. The residual is $12,250 Let me know if anybody has a better deal.

  You got a great deal. Looks like VW is serious about becoming number one in the World. My wife's granddaughter did not do near as well here in San Diego. She paid MSRP with our high taxes it was over $30k OTD. She did get low interest, I think she said 2.9% for 5 years. That was almost a year ago.
