2013 Subaru BRZ: It's Got a Good Pedal Box

2013 Subaru BRZ

The pedals in our long-term 2013 Subaru BRZ are great. They're not particularly good looking, but the placement is downright perfect.

The brake and clutch pedals are mounted higher than the gas pedal, and all three are close together. This placement makes Heel and Toe downshifting extremely easy and it's another thing to add to the long list of stuff the designers of the BRZ got right.

These are the same pedals I had in my '02 WRX (sans dead pedal). I guess the parts bin hasn't been depleted yet :)

Better than the setup in my G35. One of my very few gripes with the car.

Anybody on your staff have wide feet or ever wear boots?

Not sure it matters how good looking the things that are under your feet need to be. This probably ranks somewhere with how good looking the daytime running lights are.

one glaring problem in my opinion... i much prefer a bottom-hinged gas pedal. I realize, though, many others probably like this way better.

@ zcalvert: I prefer the bottom-hinged gas pedal too, it has a nicer action, but I guess in this and age of unintended acceleration they're less popular. If the pedals are a bit wide, you have two options... you can either perform actual heel and toe dow
