2014 Kia Forte: Back Seat Features

August 20, 2013

2014 Kia Forte

Our long-term 2014 Kia Forte EX comes with heated back seats, which I don't really need to tell you is a rarity in the compact sedan segment. In fact, only the mechanically and corporately related Hyundai Elantra offers them. More common, though still rare, are the Forte's rear seat air vents.

These features, along with the back seat's generous space (the front seat above is at its rear-most position), add to the Forte's viability as a family car as well as an alternative to larger midsize sedans.

That is indeed pretty spiffy. I'm always amazed at how uncommon rear air vents are.

One of these days somebody will design rear seat air vents that actually blow at people's faces instead of their knees. You know, like a limo.

My 2012 Leaf SL is a compact, and it has heated rear seats.

  • and the best thing about those features is the competition will have to up their game to keep up so we'll get even more good choices.

Remember when VW used to like the American consumer as much as the European consumer and included rear seat air vents in the Jetta?

the rear air is a nice touch def a must have feature for me along with heated side mirrors

  • Too bad the Forte EX doesn't come with a manual. Sure, I know the end is coming for manuals, but not yet please, just a bit longer . . .

The Forte's forte is its sweet feature set. How does the average corn-fed American feel about sitting in them?
