jcscott, I don't know exactly what the parts look like, but if I were trying to plug the hole where the end of the shaft went, I'd make a plug from the removed shaft. Plug both ends by using parts of the axles. Then remove the drive between the transfer case and the front differential and use shaft parts again the plug those holes. With the moving parts removed or disconnected ... Read More

Interesting question, answer below, but if you are referring to the spark plugs, I can think of no logical connection between what you refer to as "oil corrosion" and the oil pressure variation you say you are seeing. Chances are better that it is a bad connection or faulty oil pressure sending unit or faulty guage. If you are referring to the fact that your oil pressure fluctuates at times while ... Read More

Does your charge warning indicator light work....in other words, relying on the gauge may not give you a true picture of what is going on..ie: With the engine not running and the ignition switch in ON, terminal L of the regulator is grounded internally providing ground for the charge warning light and the indicator lights up. With the engine running and the alternator charging, terminal L voltage rises and the indicator ... Read More

I can understand you never buying another Isuzu product again. One very bad experience, like a $5,000 bill for a new engine, is enough to sour just about anybody on a vehicle brand. However, I'd hope that when talking about Isuzus with other prospective buyers, you tell them about other pieces of information - such as this website where all these Isuzu junkies talk about how much they love their Isuzus. ... The realism is the Trooper hasn't changed much since 1992...some engine, drivetrain and body modifications, but to sit in a 1994 Trooper is probably not to far off sitting inside an 2002...IMO Isuzu may have changed the descriptions and brochures, however a limited vs. luxury package is pretty much the same. If by "a control stick on automatic transmission" you are looking for a way to check the automatic transmission fluid level, there is no such "dip stick" device on 1992-2002 Trooper automatics. .. Oil consumption on most Troopers is like any other vehicle, very little or not even measurable oil consumption. But, some Troopers do consume oil even when at low miles. I remember driving my 1984 Trooper to the 1991 Detroit Auto Show. There, Isuzu was displaying the prototype for the 1992 Trooper. Next to it was an engine cutaway to view the way it was deigned. Isuzu proudly claimed responsibility for the design and described it as better than any other engine available. Among the standard features is the engine oil water cooler. It's been a couple years, but at one point I don't think there were more than a handful of people in the USA who knew more about Explorer features/options/prices than me (it was my job to test the "Build Your Own" portion of Ford Motor's various web sites, and Explorer was one of my vehicles). I am still a big proponent of Toyota and Honda vehicles, having owned a rock-solid '91 Camry (never should have sold it) and driven an '89 CRX Si that lasted 170k miles. If buying a new or late-model used vehicle today, I would give strong consideration to both brands. But I totally agree with paisan's post #1381. Yunk, The windshield noise is a known problem on all Troopers from 1992 on. I have owned a 94 Trooper and now own a 2000 Trooper - both had the problem. The problem is caused by the depth of the track between the "A" post and the windshield. The gap is about 1/4" wide and about as deep. The wind moving through this channel sets up a vibration.
