The Best

2016 Volkswagen Passat turbocharged 1.8-liter inline-4 engine. This is my dream car and the best of everything. Armstrong Volkswagen has been my dealership of choice since I moved here, they always took good care of me and my Jetta. The selection, purchase, and finance for my Passat was very smooth and no pressure. Lou is soft spoken and kind and made sure we got exactly what we wanted; And a fellow pet lover. The finance department had everything lined up for us and got us right out the door. I will be back and recommend them highly. Thank you!

Best Car Buying Experience

Lori, Jim, and especially Joe, who was very careful to fully explain everything to us and made us feel comfortable during the process, were all great people to work with. Each one of them is very knowledgeable and responsive to questions. We never felt pressured or inclined to doubt anything they told us. It was a refreshingly pleasant car buying experience. We got the car we wanted (2016 Golf TSI 4-door) at a price we were comfortable with. Getting that firm pricing from Lori via email was easy and transparent, so we felt going in that we would be able to complete the transaction with little fuss. We were not disappointed. Jim made the paperwork go smoothly and quickly, but made sure we understood each step, and thoughtfully answered questions. Joe really checked all of the boxes for great customer service throughout the process, and was just a pleasure to spend time with. Thanks to everyone at Armstrong VW for understanding what customers want, and giving it to them.

Excellent purchase experience

My wife and I purchased a 2016 Jetta hybrid on 1-2-16 at the dealership. Steve Simmons assisted us by phone before and during the purchase. He was very personable and competent throughout the process. We're quite happy with the car, now several days after the purchase. We would definitely do business with Armstrong VW again after this very good experience.

Happy New Jetta Ownerr

The sales person, Lou, was friendly, helpful, responsive, but not pushy....and he did not (thank you very much) hover over us while we were looking at the new car inventory. We were dealt with honestly and professionally, and we left the dealership believing we had purchased a good vehicle at a fair price without any games or razzle dazzle.

Jetta 2015 Purchase

I bought a 2015 Jetta in tornado red this past Sunday and let me just say... I AM IN LOVE. Not only do I adore my new car, but the people of Armstrong VW were all so nice and helpful, it made the experience all the while. Excellent Customer Service

I was referred to Steve Simmons by a loyal customer who had purchased several vehicles from Steve. Steve was very friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. He took the time to hear what my needs were and assured me that he would keep an eye out for me. After speaking to him the first time, I felt he was honest and I would be able to trust him. Within a couple of weeks, I was contacted by Steve about a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta. It sounded perfect. It was perfect. I drove the car off the lot the same day I actually met Steve and signed the papers. I am more than thrilled and yes, I'd do it all over again and I will be taking my kids in to purchase cars from Steve Simmons @ Armstrong Volkswagen.

2014 Passat

leased a 2014 Passat and I will go back for another one when the time comes. The customer service was excellent, the sales manager, salesman and the service dept. went out of there way to get our car and have it ready with short notice. I would like to thank them for the fantastic job, I really appreciate everything they have done for us.

Didn't think I'd buy from a dealer

I'm not alone when I say I avoid shopping for a car at a dealership anyway I can. I would frequent lots after hours to avoid the "sales pitch". Although, my experience at Armstrong was much different and I was made to feel comfortable and not pressured to purchase at anytime. I felt as if I had an "in" and knew "somebody" in the car business (if that makes sense). Overall I am beyond pleased with my 2013 GTI and really appreciate the help Bill H. provided on multiple occasions. In addition to Bob S. and John F. on the day of purchase who were very accommodating while we were tying up some loose ends. Despite a good 35 min+ commute, Armstrong VW has a customer for life! Thanks everyone, Robert

Give Armstrong a Chance to Earn Your Business

I have taken my VW to Armstrong (not purchased there) for service. Needed to replace a car and wanted to try the GTI. My service consultant introduced me to Shannon A., Fleet Manager. Completely satisfied with how I was treated. Test drive was on my own. Offer was made in writing without hesitation. I have Consumer Reports quote network available to me and Shannon beat that without hesitation. All aspects of the deal were transparent and honest. If you want to buy a VW, talk to Shannon at Armstrong first. You will be treated fairly and honestly.

Dealer tried conning us into in-house financing!

This review is intended only for the Sales Department. When I told you the first three times that we didn't want your in house financing, I thought we had made ourselves clear. After settling on the final price, you came back out with a consumer financing form asking for all of our personal information including our social security numbers. After realizing you were going to pull our credit (in a deceptive manner), which could have negatively hurt our credit scores, along with our home purchase planned for later this year. After refusing to sign the consumer credit form, the sales manager ripped the consumer credit form label off of the top, to which we replied to his actions "you're acting unprofessional" which was followed by him calling us "unprofessional". He claimed that this information was required for the Patriot Act, however, after further research into this area, a SSN is required to be provided to the lenders taking on the financing (which we took care of elsewhere). Needless to say we had a horrible experience with this dealership. Way to keep up with the typical car dealership [non-permissible content removed] perception. Due to his actions, we will be going elsewhere with our business, and be telling everyone we know not to shop at this location. We did file a complaint with Costco the following morning (went through their auto buying services), and within 5 minutes got an apology from the General Manager which we did appreciate. He stated that his sales manager had acted in an "inappropriate, unprofessional, and unacceptable manner", and that it was an isolated incident.

Very Poor Response

I filled out the new car form on carsdirect.com and received an email from Bill Hall at Armstrong VW. Unfortunately, he included pricing on just about every model of Jetta but the one I wanted, the Sportwagen TDI. I sent him an email requesting a price quote on the correct car, and though I received two emails from him, neither contained what I was looking for, the price quote. I gave up with this dealership.

Very happy with online car buying from Armstrong VW

We test-drove the VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI at another dealer and were run through the sales-guy + sales-manager sales mill: "What price would we have to give you to get you to commit TODAY?" We were quickly put off by that other dealer's slimy techniques. So, I went online via Edmunds and asked for quotes from other car dealers within a 50 mile radius. I got a couple of "call me if you're serious" responses. However, I got a great response from Bill Hall at Armstrong VW -- "I don't have exactly what you asked for, but I do have these two alternatives. Here's a price quote for each of them good for a week." We went back and forth via email over the next day or two and found a car that was almost exactly what we wanted (different color). Each response was clear, and included quotes for each possibility offered. In the end, he was able to our car from another dealer. He offered us a good price (slightly below Edmunds "True Value"), and was very clear about what it had and what it didn't. Bill got the car there when he said he would and was low key all along - no pressure. He was responsive to questions for clarification throughout the process. I didn't feel pressured; nor did I feel left hanging. The actual purchase went very smoothly - no surprise add-ons. He was generous with his time explaining all the features, including pairing my wife's phone with the car for her. While we've only had the car a few hours, we are very pleased with our buying experience. After this, I can't imagine using any other method to buy a car!

Love our new Jetta

Buying a new car is never an enjoyable experience but dealing with the fleet manager Shannon at Armstrong Volkswagen was as close to it as we have ever come. I did some research on the internet so I knew what I wanted. I asked several local dealers for quotes by email and Shannon was very prompt in replying. Some of the other dealers refused to talk quotes unless we spoke on the phone or the gave us a boilerplate email. After a couple emails back and forth we decided on the exact model and got a very reasonable quote. I let a couple of the other dealers know that quote and asked if they could do better. I was told there was no way Armstrong VW could offer a new Jetta at that price and we would be deceived with added costs. When we showed up to see the car it was exactly as we had discussed and we did get it for the price agreed upon. After about two hours from the time we pulled into the dealership we were driving home in our new car. I have no problem recommending both Armstrong VW and Shannon. As a side note, my parents purchased a new car from another dealer the same day we did but it took them several hours one day and almost all of the next to get everything worked out, and they did not feel like they got the best deal in the end.

Great sales

I just bought a new VW TDI and I love it. Richard Janal was my salesman and He was The best I have delt with. He was honest no tricks and spent a larrge amount of time to answer my questions and fully explain the car. No pressure and I could tell he loves his job.The finance guy was grear also. I would reccomend this dealership to anyone. Their prices are very fair and they make it easy to buy a car.. Rudie Wilhelm III
