Excellent Sales. It was very smooth

by kiaoptimistik on 02/22/2012

I originally went to compare cars and view the Sportage firsthand and was never pressured. I left the first time really liking the Kia lineup but was undecided and the sales manager and Jason respected that...letting me leave without a hassle (unusual in my past experience with dealerships). I originally hesitated to go to Ricart because I read some bad reviews but I'm glad I made my final decision to return a week later. I brought my child and a neighbor boy and just like the first visit, Jason the salesperson provided all of us with something to drink. The kids raided the vending machines and were a little hyped on sugar awhile but were well tolerated by all the staff. I printed from online an advertised sales price of a car that was very fair and it was honored and they gave me a fair price for my trade. The price I paid was lower than the True Market Value (TMV) price that's posted on Edmunds.com. It was a smooth, easy transaction and I really didn't have to negotiate. If you're being given a fair price there's no need for all that back and forth stuff. I didn't want any additional stuff and was only asked once if I wanted anything added and my answer was "no" and that was that. It wasn't brought up again. Jason was thorough in explaining all the options of my new Optima and synced my iPhone to the car then demonstrated how to used the cars' blue-tooth to make calls. I left knowing I had a great deal and best of all the oil change prices are very reasonable at the dealer AND they report to carfax. They also offer FREE carwashes as long as you own the car. So now its up to me how I treat my new car by getting the carwashes frequent and using their dealer for oil changes so I can create a carfax history that will keep the value of my car up. Overall, I've bought at least 8 cars now and this was by far the easiest and least pressured I felt at a dealership. Thanks

Buyer BEWARE!!!!

by pwcb on 11/21/2011

While we liked our salesman, the financing department was terrible! What should’ve taken 1-2 hours to purchase our vehicle took 4 hours. The finance guy tried to tell us he couldn’t accept our outside financing and that the “best” financing he could get us was almost double what we had already secured before walking into the dealership. What a load of crap!We were ready to walk and he then came back to the table and said “We are just gonna give it to you because we don’t wanna fight with you on this” Ummm… you didn’t “give” us anything! We still paid for the vehicle and for the price you were asking! Terrible [violative content deleted] in the finance department. My suggetion is, if you buy from this dealership, make sure you already have your financing secured and unless they can beat that offer be prepared to walk. We will never suggest this dealership to anyone!

Waste of Bytes

by thegryphon on 10/07/2011

Their initial email misquoted an automatic as a manual transmission. A request for an 'out the door' price needed a follow-up next day to get an answer which was incomplete. Waste of my time on-line so there was no way I was going to waste more time actually driving there.

High Pressure, Strong Pressure, Fast Talkers

by grinder4 on 03/13/2011

Deceitful during the sales process, have to tell multiple people no to get away. Require long waits just to drive a car. Would be my last choice to buy again.

Got a Good Deal

by jimbo1966 on 11/14/2010

I was somewhat surprised with my experience compared to 15 years ago. I went to look at a Mazda and when asked where the Nissans were the salesman told me the other end of the lot. I asked if he would get credit for the sale down there and he said "no", and he did not pressure me to go with Mazda. Nissan salesman not quite as informed as the Mazda one, but he was brand new and helpful. He went to get answers on a vehicle if he did not know instead of fakling it. I did buy a Nissan, but ended up going for a more expensie trim level as the one I initially wanted was not in stock - there were even fewer at other dealers so no blame to be placed here. We did have to go back and forth on price, but I feel I got a very good deal including value of trade in. As with any dealer do your research and go in with knowledge. It helped me here with price. Also, play hard to get. "Maybe" and "probably" drive them nuts or "I need to go outside for a walk to think about it." Even better go to lunch and think about it. Remember not to let the emotion and smell of a new car get the best of you. If in doubt walk away and come back later. An impulse buy on a car you will not like tomorrow is not worth it - I speak from experience. Also, I do not live in Columbus so I will not be getting service here.

Bad bad bad

by jefecito on 08/24/2009

Ricart Auto's sales processes and purchase prices aren't awful. There's too much pressure to get you to buy add-ons, though. Their service folks STINK!!! They're not mean, but prices are sky-high, zero promises are honored, and they're not attentive in the slightest. "I did what I could" seems to be everyone's answer, but nobody steps up to actually provide customer service. Also, if you get anything extra from the salespeople that might actually involve the service department carrying it out (ie, a service package or tire package, etc.), you can pretty much bet that the service folks a) won't have been told, so you'll have to bring in your purchase contract, b) will do whatever they can to get out of the agreement, and c) will blame it all on sales and not be responsible for anything. I cannot imagine a more useless way of going about customer service. All while claiming to be #1. THAT, by the way, is because you get pressured constantly to fill out the surveys in a positive fashion.

lower pressure & excellent experiance

by jmckinley on 05/24/2008

Always heard Ricart was high pressure, but we went and were allowed to walk the lot and drive the cars without issue. Left dealership and came back because of the Ford Fusion and the way the treated us on our first visit.

High pressure sales and false advertising

by bk7997 on 02/29/2008

Just purchased a vehicle that was pressured on me, and this was not the vehicle that I was looking for. Sales person stated I could test drive vehicle after paperwork was signed. Got home after driving vehicle, did not like it! Called immediately, and was told that there is no return policy, now everyone I know has seen the commercials, and I have a printed copy of an email that states that they have a 6 month 6000 mile 100% return/exchange policy, when I inquired about this, I was told that only applied to used vehicles!!! Nowhere in writing does it say that, and it doesn't even say to "see dealer for details" I do not reccomend this place, this is the first time I have ever complained about a new car purchase! Apparently I am not alone either, they have over 300 complaints with the attorney general!

Avoid this dealer

by classicjetta on 12/20/2007

I went here to buy a used car a couple of years ago at the "used car factory". They had a decent selection. However, the car I drove had no coolant left and started to overheat after a mile of driving. Not good. Worse was that this was one of their "certified" cars that supposedly was checked out thoroughly. I found another similar car, which tested out well. The salesperson I talked to was gruff and rude. He saw I was young and thought I didn't know anything about cars. The prices were outrageous as well, way above blue book value, and they were not very willing to negotiate. In short, stay away from this place!

First time Ricart buyer pleasently surprised - but check the "SPECIALS"

by chillerdad on 10/01/2007

Not a fan of auto MEGA MALLS, I was pleasently surprised by Ricart Mitsubishi. They didn't badger me with phone calls after sending for an internet quote. The internet sales associate, Mike Clark, was professional and quickly responsive to all my questions. The sales manager, Rick Collins, made the process of coming to a final price very painless. After initially offering invoice pricing on a 2007 Outlander XLS, I checked the Ricart website for specials and wound up saving an additional $1200 below the Edmunds invoice price. It was basically a painless buying experience. Surprisingly, I find myself reccommending Ricart over either of the other two Columbus area Mitsubishi dealerships, neither of which made much of an impression for overall integrity.
