Trustworthy!

This was my first ever experience buying a car all by myself at 21. I was excited but nervous as well.. The salesman (Karl Louis & Nathan Derouen as well as the Business Manager Kevin Brazanaskas) made me much more confident and positive the process! They never let you down at Hunter Subaru! My family has bought several cars from them now.

Poor post sales support!

Unfortunately, I wanted to let you know that I am less than pleased with Hunter Subaru before I go ahead as you suggested and add my comments and experience on Social media. Two days after I purchased my 2019 CrossTrek, my salesperson dutifully called me and asked if everything was OK with the vehicle and if I was pleased. I was in the car at the time and everything was great. He mentioned that I would receive a call to schedule a routine service call in a day or so to check fluid levels and just make sure that the car was operating properly. The next day my audio simply would not work. Thinking it was operator error, I reread the owner's manual several times to make sure that I had not inadvertently changed a setting. I could not find an error so I call my salesperson back to ask his advice. He talked to the service department and they suggested that I check cable connections to the AMP to make sure that one had not come loose. I did so and I could not get any sounds from the radio, navigation, nor iPhone through Bluetooth or ApplePlay. So I called him back and he suggested that I take the car to Greenville since it is under warranty and is somewhat closer to my home. I replied that I would rather bring it back to Hunter since I was supposed to have the appointment in a week anyway. After all, not having audio is very inconvenient but not critical. Chris was surprised that I did not already have an appointment with the service department so I asked him to expedite it. The next day I received a voice message from the service department telling me about the option to set up an appointment but she did not mention anything about the audio not working. I called back around 5:00 PM but apparently she had left for the evening so I left a voice mail message explaining the situation and asking for her to return my call so that I could come in and have the car serviced as soon as possible. I never received a call back from anyone - either to address the audio issue or even to schedule a routine appointment. I simply do not understand the lack of concern and commitment at Hunter Subaru. I am under the impression that Hunter Subaru is more interested in making a sale. Once that is done, you are on your own. All I can say is that I am thankful that Subaru's are so reliable. Otherwise I would seriously regret my decision.

2017 Crosstrek purchase

My experience at Hunter has been incredible to say the least. Pam Justice, Gordon and Jeff Jacobson have done such a great job in not only making my purchase process easy, but the above and beyond care and concern for my car and what fits me and budget really has made a huge difference. Pam and Gordon both stayed late the night we looked at the Crosstrek, and while I felt terrible for keeping them, they gladly stayed and were accommodating. They even took care of all the financing and getting the car ready for pick up during the week, in order to speed up the dreaded waiting process on the weekend. Both Jeff and Pam gave me their personal cell numbers and email, to contact them for any questions or concerns in the process and for the duration of my time owning the car. This was the first time for both my husband and I, that we didn't feel like we were at a car dealership as just one of thousands of clients or just there to spend money on a new car. Hunter Subaru has made it a very personal experience, and created a very comfortable atmosphere for us. Even if I didn't want another Subaru or Hyundai in the years to come, I would purchase a vehicle with them, simply because of the care and genuine people there. Well Done Hunter Subaru

I am a rookie when it comes to buying a car as my husband has usually assumed this role. I found the waiting room warm and inviting. I did not have to wait at all before someone greeted me with a big sile. Chris Payne was the sales person that took me out to test drive 2 cars I had in mind. He was very nice and willing to answer any questions. He took me to a specific road to really show me how the AWD Forester woul perform. He was not at all pushy but let me decide on my own the merits of this vehicle. I was pleasantly surprised when he let me take it home to see how it performed on our unpaved mountain road (which was amazing since it scaled it with ease). That pretty much sealed the deal for me. I got a very fair price for this car There were a few small dings I was aware of and part of the deal was for this to be repaired. I did not really look at the rest of the vehicle's exterior. When I got it home I realized there were many scratches and 2 places were deep. I was told by Chad at the repair shop to email the work that needed to be done. Since I had signed and agreed to just the one area, they did not see any obligation to repair the other areas. After speaking to the Sales Manager, he agreed to split the cost with us to repair this. A couple of days later I was very happy to get my car and the sales manager graciously ate the cost!! Chris had it detailed and put floor mats in it that were missing. I now have a beautiful 2015 Subaru Forester with only 18,400 miles on it and it certainly feels like a brand new one! I am so happy with Hunter Subaru!

Outstanding customer service!

I first reached out online and dealt with Kayla. She answered all my questions through email and text in a timely manner. She even got my car appraised without my having taken it to the dealership. Upon arrival, I was greated by Pam, a friendly saleswoman. I told her exactly what I wanted and she led me to the car. Pam answered all my questions, was efficient and wasted none of my time. She quickly brought the car I was interested in to the front so I could test drive it. Once I decided to buy the car the whole staff was on it. While Pam called the bank, a finance manager named Jeff came quickly to take the needed paperwork. While all of this was occurring another staff member came to tell me about a 1,000 mile check. I was asked to write any questions in the next month that I might have and when I came back the team would look over my car. From the time I stepped on the lot until I left was about two hours! I was really impressed. I came back to the car dealership about three days later to ask a few questions about accessories. The same staff jumped up to help me. I can't say enough about this dealership. They were so professional and helpful. I will absolutely be a customer in the future. Thanks Hunter Subaru, Kristie C

Refreshing car shopping experience.

Greg Bennett was my sales person at Hunter Subaru, and I was very pleased with his service. He was very knowledgeable, courteous, and not pushy at all. He did all he could to work with me, explain all my options clearly, and set me up with the exact vehicle I wanted. I, like most people, dread car shopping and car salespeople, but I was very pleasantly surprised here. It really helps when you and the salesperson feel you can actually relate to one another. I didn't feel pressured at all, and I couldn't be happier with my new Subaru!

My husband and I just purchased a used car from Hunter. I had researched their cars online before we went in. I knew exactly what I wanted and how much I could pay. Dustin Daughety totally hooked us up! There was no pressured into buying a more expensive vehicle. He listened to us and went to the lot to get the car I had picked out within minutes. We test drove it, and in no time we were driving away in our new/used car. Thank You so much for making our purchase easy and stress free! We will be back when it's time for my husband's new truck, and I'll make sure we talk to Dustin again!

Give Sammy Justice a bonus and two new shirts!

As a former Subaru salesman myself, I know a lot about how things work at a car dealership, and Hunter Subaru in general, and Sammy Justice in particular, are doing things right when it comes to selling cars and helping customers. Sammy greeted us promptly when we arrived, without seeming pushy. He hustled to bring us the car we were looking for, and even when I warned him that he was up against a "professional," he didn't skip a beat. His friendly, helpful demeanor and good humor were evident from first to last, without a hint of nervousness or swagger. He sought to accommodate our every request. Can we take a test drive by ourselves? No problem. Can you appraise the trade while we're gone? Absolutely. When we came to the table to negotiate, it did not feel like we were fighting a battle or playing games. We quickly achieved a win/win agreement. Thanks to a sales manager who was willing to deal and not play hardball, I didn't have to "bring out the big guns," even though I had done my homework and was loaded for bear. My only complaint would be that they should try to expedite the process between the handshake of "we have a deal," to the final paperwork in the business office. But hey, that's what happens when you buy a car on the last Saturday of the month! All in all, it was a great experience buying a car, and I would heartily recommend this dealership and this salesman to my friends. Respectfully, Curt Finnamore

The Right Choice

I had been wanting to purchase a Subaru Outback for some time, but I'd had been turned off by so many persistent and pushy sales personnel in the past. When I pulled in to Hunter Subaru, James Webber greeted me and immediately put to rest any fears I had of another bad experience. He listened to everything I was looking for, my budget plans and every other question I had in between. I felt bad for running him literally all over the car lot, but he never complained. He told me his number one priority was to make sure I was happy. He went above and beyond my expectations and gave me a totally stress free and enjoyable experience. He is honest, humble and genuine. Because of him, I will return to Hunter Subaru down the road as a repeat customer. Also, Trey McBride was wonderful in his financing magic. The entire staff was wonderful. If anyone is thinking of shopping at Hunter Subaru, do it! And be sure to ask for James Webber. You've made the right choice!

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!

I bought a Subaru Forester from Hunter Automotive on Saturday, January 30, 2016 and paid for it in full that same day. I was told by Trey McBride that I needed to pay my South Carolina taxes on the vehicle (I live in Greenville, SC) as soon as possible, mail the original receipts to him and he would then apply for my tag, title, and registration -per a $39.00 DMV fee for that and a $499.00 service fee. I paid all vehicle property taxes on the car the following Tuesday, February 2, 2016. The day that I bought my car, I was given a temporary 30-day tag. On February 25, 2016, I called Hunter Automotive because I was concerned my 30 day tag was almost expired and I had not yet received my tag, title, or registration. I was told not to worry, that it was on its way and should be there before the temporary tag expired on March 2. I was told if I did not receive it the following Monday, to call them and let them know. On Monday, my husband and I both spoke to several employees including Trey and Tracy that told us they would check on the status of my tag application. I was also told that my call would be returned by all employees that I spoke with. None of my calls were returned. I was repeatedly jerked around and referred to different employees. Finally, on Tuesday, after countless calls, Tracy informed me that my tag has yet to be applied for and she has no idea when the paperwork will be filed so that I can receive my tag. Tracy told me she would call me back within the next 15 minutes to solve my problem. Not only did she never call me back, I later found out she left for the day. My car will not be covered by insurance with an expired tag, therefore, I am unable to drive it. I have been lied to, mislead, deceived, and not treated like a customer that paid over $27,000 in full for a vehicle. They refuse to give me my title to a car that I rightfully own and refuse to address my problem. They have done absolutely nothing to rectify my problem and have treated my business as if it means nothing. Please, if you are looking for employees that will treat you as you deserved to be treated, do not buy your vehicle here. If you are looking for a Subaru, I would highly recommend Fairway Subaru in Greenville, SC or Prestige Subaru in Asheville, NC. I will never consider doing business here again. I will never recommend anyone doing business here and I will actively try to dissuade people from coming here. My time and money are more valuable than this.
