Chief Economist Lacey Plache joined Edmunds.com in 2010 after 12 years as an economic consultant to law firms, corporations and government clients.
Plache has worked on numerous projects analyzing complex issues related to firm and consumer behavior, with an emphasis on paid search advertising and consumer credit issues. Her research has examined the role of financial markets in economic growth, competition in two-sided markets and the economics of payment cards. She also has conducted empirical analysis of behavioral law and economics hypotheses regarding consumer payment card use. She currently is serving her third term on the editorial board of The Antitrust Source.
Plache holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles, where she specialized in industrial organization and economic history.
