  • Ignition Gremlins (Or How I Have To Sometimes "Butt Start" My Aztek)

Written by: hollyr on Aug 20, 2010 10:47:56 PM

I have a 2004 Pontiac Aztek. It has gremlins. I admit I didn't look through EVERY post in this thread, but I did see many that were similar. I love my Aztek. Even with this "quirk", which I have begun to lovingly refer to as "Butt Starting" my car...I still love it. However, honestly, without the aid of a few or one rather large friend with me these days, it is ... Read More

I got the 2004 Pontiac Aztek a while back. I love the car, and it is a lot of fun to drive. And it gets a lot of attention. But I am having some major issues with it. 1) The first problem is the the driver side break light. It works sometimes, and other times it does not work. I have changed the bulb many times, but that is not the ... Read More

  • Special Policy Adjustment for front wheel bearings

    Written by: trudy2 on Feb 27, 2008 11:10:57 AM

On the messages in this section I found out about this adjustment for the 2002-2004 Pontiac Aztek vehicles. It's policy #06036. It said if you were in that time period and the car was under 5 yrs. old or 60,000 miles that you would be reimbursed for the expense of replacing these. I filled out all the paperwork and sent it in with high hopes. But today we rec'd an answer ... Read More

I bought a 2004 Pontiac Aztek with 37000 miles on it. 3 months later at 39800 miles the head gasket was blown. I am also having transmission problems with this car. I should have followed the advice of others who also reported those problems on the internet.

I'm considering buy a used 2004 AWD Pontiac Aztek. It has 36500 miles on it. The dealer wants $13,995 for it. What do you think? Is it a good decision? Here is a link to the car at the dealership's website. 2004 Aztek

  • Goodbye Pontiac

Written by: myrose on Mar 26, 2005 10:01:43 AM

My purchase of the 2002 Aztek (brand new) marks the end of my experience with Pontiac, period. I have had three since 1997 (two Grand Am's and this Aztek). Each time I hit 50,000 miles, the vehicles started falling apart. Needless to say, when I purchased this last one, (my once beloved yellow AZTEK) I could not afford to get the "extended warranty" and it has been kicking my financial "butt." ... Read More

  • End of Aztek

So the Aztek will end production in December of 2004. Has anyone read if Pontiac has another crossover in the works. I cannot see any division just getting out of the crossover market since it seems so popular.

  • About Ford...

As for the Taurus, it is moving a bit upscale by 2003-2004 and will share the Volvo S80 chasis. The prices will go up and production will be far less than it is today. What car companies are finding is that there are CERTAIN reasons folks are buying so many SUVs/Trucks today. At first, they thought it was the off-road ability and 4wd but that turned out to be wrong for ... Read More
