I've owned a 1988 Daytona Shelby Z since new-got it the day before Thanksgiving, 1987)-and 4 years ago found a 1990 Daytona ES with a 3.0 V6. It only had 70,000 miles and looked great, automatic with ac. So along with my Shelby, now I have two Daytona's, and they both look and run great inspite of being over/under 30 years old. The 3.0 is a good engine with lots of torque, but the … valve seals are a well-known problem so frequent oil changes help the smoking issues they are known for-it handles great, gets comments (hardly ever see one of these anymore), and mine are garaged and driven mostly for pleasure. both are bright red, the Shelby has leather interior and the ES has cloth, both are 4 wheel disk brakes (pretty modern back in the late 80's) and they are fairly easy to work on and maintain. If you can find one, they are a lot of fun.
