DISHONEST. CHANGED AGREED UPON PRICE TWICE AFTER CREDIT APP
Written by Kevin1025 on 02/22/2019
This experience was extremely dishonest and shady. We had an agreed upon deal between trade-in and new vehicle 3 times that changed, TWICE after a credit app. The rates did not change, the pricing on the vehicles did after a formal credit app with 2 hard inquiries. Ultimately, the sales manager, Steve, pulled the offer saying my vehicle wasn’t worth what THEY QUOTED and confirmed after review. Additionally, he said it was because they took on two more of similar vehicles within 48 hours. So what is it? Not worth it, or inventory? Further a simple inventory search with the supplied Carfax’s show that the 2 similar vehicles have been on their lots for weeks/months, not new. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. DEAL ON TRADE-IN AND NEW VEHICLE WERE AGREED ON. GAVE THEM OPPORTUNITY TO FINANCE AS I HAD AREAFY SECURED A LOAN. THEY THOUGHT I WAS HOOKED AND CHANGED PRICE TWICE AFTER HITTING MY CREDIT TWICE. REASON WAS BOGUS SAYINGN THEY TOOK TO MANY OF MY TRADE-IN VEHICLES IN. A SIMPLE SEARCH OF THEIR INVENTORY AND CARFAX SHOWS THOSE VEHICLES WERE ALREADY THERE. Here is a detailed recount of my 3 week plus interaction with this dealership. I will be adding this whole interaction on other forums with pictures to substantiate claims. Please search for it. -2/3 Reached out through the Edmunds website with a reduced price for the vehicle. The customer care manager responded quickly, but getting a response from the sales rep was terrible. -2/11 Finally a test drive is scheduled. No issues. An offer was made on my end and the rep said he would let me know either way in the morning. By 8pm I had an email “thanking me” for coming and to let him know what else he could do. -2/12 I emailed back he could let me know where we stand on the offer. No response. Another email from me later in the day, no response. -2/16 I follow-up again and was told to talk to a different sales rep while the one I was with was on vacation (he was but not on 2/12). -2/18-2/19 Negotiations ensue with the deal changing from their end 3 times. The last time over $122 for a key fob (since I had only specified a key and not a fob. However, I was already told to, “Fill our a credit app” to get a rate. Understandably, rates change, but the prices should not. After the deal changed for the third time at the finish line, I declined to pay the additional charge. AGAIN THIS WAS AFTER A CREDIT APP IN WHICH 2 HARD INQUIRIES WERE MADE. -2/21 I return to the rep WILLING TO PAY THE $122, I was told he had to check in the AM. -2/22 Receive a message the deal has been pulled, spoke to the used car manager who spoke of their inventory changing and that was the reason they would not commit to their offer. AGAIN, AFTER 3 WEEKS OF MOSTY TERRIBLE SERVICE, THEY CHANGED THE DEAL AT THE FINISH LINE 3 TIMES CHARGING MORE, THE LAST TWO TIMES AFTER A CREDIT APP HAS BEEN RUN. I HAVE PROOF OF ALL OF THIS AND WILL BE POSTING PICTURES LATER THIS EVENING.

Dealer Response
2/8 Our first contact with Kevin after receiving internet lead from evening before. He made us an offer on a 2015 used Enclave. 2/9 Sales Rep. thanked him for offer but declined, offer too low. 2/11 Kevin reached out to us again with details of offer. Sales Mgr set up appointment for that evening. Kevin made an offer where he wanted to trade in vehicle and get a check back from us for $2000. Sales Rep declined his offer but said he would double check with the General Sales Mgr in morning. 2/12 Sales Rep. called him to let him know that we were passing on his offer, we were just too far apart. Kevin said he was going to look around at other vehicles. 2/16 Kevin reached out to our Sales Mgr again asking us to match an offer on his trade that he received at another dealer. Our Sales Mgr was out of town on vacation but gave Kevin the name of another salesman that could work with him. 2/18 Kevin called looking to talk to new salesperson. 2/18 thru 2/21 Kevin and Salesman engaged in negotiation process: offers and counter offers were made regarding our vehicle and his trade. During negotiations, Kevin wanted confirmation that we could get him 3% interest rate. Informed him that he would need to fill out credit application so we could submit it to banks. He filled out application online, we pulled his credit report and submit his application to the bank. Vehicle was posted online with one key but we agreed to include second key but made a counter offer if he wanted extra key fob. Discussions took place regarding keys fobs and soft top covers on the trade and Kevin declined our offer stating "No thanks, this is to much at this point". 2/21 After declining our offer, Kevin texted back that he wanted to get the ball rolling. At that time, the General Sales Mgr had left for the evening and the salesman told him he would run the deal past his manager in the morning. 2/22 Sales manager reviewed the deal and elected to pass on it. Upon further review, based on our current inventory, he decided he did not need another Jeep on our lot. General Sales Manager spoke with Kevin on phone personally and during the conversation, Kevin told him that if we did not sell him the car, he would bad mouth our dealership all over social media. We had no signed contract, no deposit and after his threat to bad mouth us, we feel we made the right decision by not making a deal with Kevin.
