Ran my credit for a cash purchase.

Tom Lisle wrote in a signed letter that is was because of a possible bad check. I did offer to pay in cash. He still argued that's not how we do things.

We appreciate that helping protect customer credit is a very important thing. This is why when anyone purchases a vehicle from us they get a privacy notice informing them that credit checks will be performed. We understand that you, and most of our customers, are in fact credit worthy. In today's world, we need to do everything possible to protect us from the possibility of taking a bad check. Vehicles today are very expensive and it would be irresponsible of us not to know the credit worthiness of someone writing us a high dollar amount check. We understand that not everyone is a bad actor, but believe we are taking the steps necessary to protect the customer and us. We thank you for your business.
