onI am having a hard time doing an overall rating normally I would give Lexus of Merrillville 5 Stars and Yes recommend family and friends but this experience has made me a little jaded.
I have been looking at the same 2019 RX with 15300 miles since the beginning of June I was told that the vehicles cannot be sold pre-owned certified until a part which it needed was replaced and with C19 I had no problem waiting. Went back to the dealership 2 weeks ago vehicle still not on the lot a salesman came out gave me his card and said he would call once it was on the lot. He did call stated car was available and there was no room for negotiation the price is the price so I waited a few more weeks the car is still available and still be advertised with the same mileage and price.
Today I went to see the car it was on the lot and available. Here is the kicker I am trading a 2017 vehicle with very low miles and even the dealership gave it an excellent grade per KBB, they came back at the lowest price which was fine I still have some wiggle room I was very close to saying yes. So I decide to take the 2019 RX out for a test drive and it doesn't have 15300 miles it has 20028 miles 25% more than advertised I thought I was given the wrong car. The salesman stated that someone has been driving the car than I asked how much are they taking off since it now has 5000 miles more and the answer was SAME Price no difference for an additional 5000 miles this makes no sense to me. I am sure if I brought the car I was trading with an additional 5K in miles the price would change from their original offer. In closing I have made more than 1 attempt to look at this car since the beginning of June at this point I am very disappointed with Lexus of Merrillville I am not sure why I was not called about it once it was repaired but I will see what happens over the next few days.
