BEWARE!!! (The following is the experience I had with a salesman named Beau and the sales manager named Dan) Came in to test drive a gti and see if I like it Test drove a couple and told beau what my budget is before we walked into the building and talk about numbers Walked back to beaus office sat down and filled out some paper about what my target price is. Beau left and took the paper to the manager. After 10 minutes or so beau returned with a number I didn't want to pay which I was was ok with and I told beau to keep an eye out for a car that might fit with in my price range and he agreed on that. But before I left he told me he wanted me to meet his manager which I thought was a nice gesture— making me feel more comfortable. Dan, Beau's manager, was looking at the preliminary financial overview I filled out earlier and then asked me what I wanted to pay for the GTI. I told him the price I'm looking for and told him that Beau said he would keep an eye out for me. The manager, Dan, immediately was insulted by the fact I wanted to stay around 17k for a 2014 GTI and spoke in a condescending tone. I was treated like I was stupid, continually asked me why do I even bother to look at GTIs with his hands raised aggressively in the air. It felt like a verbal assault and that's a terrible way to treat customers that want to give you their money. At this point I was very offended and hurt so I asked him, out of frustration, why is he being [non-permissible content removed] and treating a customer like this. Obviously, my response wasn't ideal but fair given Dan's prejudicial tone about my financial situation. In all honesty, I am grateful that I am in a position to pay for that car outright in cash. But that isn't what I am prepared to do and I'd rather finance one at a decent price—like any educated car shopper would attempt to do. At this point, Dan turned red and got up out of his chair and said "Oh, I'll show you," while walking toward me as if he were going to hit me, at this point beau said "George, let's go," so we walked out and I was in disbelief asking beau what the heck just happened. Shortly after this point the manager came sprinting out the front door. He was breathing hard, almost in anger. He just stopped and stared at me. Beau had to put his hand out and say "Woe!" direct to Dan. Dan then threw something in the garbage with anger, ripped the front door open and stormed back into the dealership. I left the dealership and shortly after I received a text from beau apologizing for his manager.
