Dace Downs is amazing. There was no gimmicks, loopholes or curve balls during any part of my negotiation. I am wary of salesman, but trust me, dealing with Dace is a breath of fresh air. I highly recommend. I drove all the way from Austin and was delighted by his professionalism and hospitality. Thanks Dace!

I am originally from Houston, so I really "know" snobby salespeople!! You will not find that attitude here! The sales team is fabulous! They treat you like you are the star of the sale, not the vehicle! I have bough 3 cars fro Honda of San Marcos and the last 2 from Don Peltier - he is awesome!! He should write a book on how to be a "repeat customer" salesman!! He is courteous, an excellent listener, wonderful negotiator, you name it, and Don can do it!! He truly cares is you are satisfied and not for the the acclaim of the sale, but his concern for his fellow mankind! He has even helped me with service before - nothing else to say, but, what a breath of fresh air buying from Don Peltier and San Marcos Honda!!! We will see yall soon, for a 4-peat!!!!

Amazing!!!! I walked in nervous and walked out knowing I was treated with respect and dignity. I had a rough situation with my trade in and they took care of me. Wes my sales guy had everything ready to go and was patient with me as I test drove multiple vehicles. He explained the options for financing and leasing and walked me through the process. Once I took delivery they noticed some anomalies with the driver and passenger side windows. They offered to drive down to Austin and bring me a loaner car in a few days so they could replace the windows and they also tinted the car and installed the floor mates I ordered. This was the best car buying experience I have ever had.

The worst dealership

I bought a vehicle from them on Oct 25,2013.When driving it home, I found out the AC was whistling, and the day after, two passenger's door auto lock were found broken.I brought it back to them, they checked and diagnostic those problems.It costs about 600$ for get those fixed and they told me it was my responsibility, even I have not got the tittle yet, and have had the car for only 11 days. When I came to that dealership, I hope they would be better than some smaller dealership in the area, but they actually are the worst one. I paid the price for a good condition used car and got from them a crap which they tried to get rid of by cheating on their customers.I will never recommend anybody to this dealership.Please beware and do the research about them before you buy anything from them.

My wife wanted a Champagne Frost Pearl 2013 Accord Ex-L V-6, and we purchased one about two weeks ago. We wanted the best price, and through Edmonds, my email inquiry went to 5 dealers in the area, one of which was Honda of San Marcos. I was very interested in Honda of San Marcos because of their lifetime powertrain warranty and was in contact with Damon F. and David C. They said because I had sent "the email to everyone around", they could not get the car with this color. The other 4 dealerships could, so we bought it from one of them. That Honda of San Marcos was so limited was dissapointing.

RIPOFF-DONT BUY FROM THIS DEALER

Bought a Civic SI from San Marcos Honda in October. I decided to trade and get the new Accord. I paid 23000 for the SI. I put 3000 down and financed 20000. Eight months later the car still in brand new condition is only worth 16000 at San Marcos Honda. They are selling the same car as mine for 20000. They said you lose a lot in the first year. I would say 7000 dollars is quite a lot. Do not buy from this dealer. They are selling cars for a lot more than they are worth and taking advantage of people. Do your homework before buying. Jason D. was my salesperson who is now in finance. Buyer Beware.

The team at Honda San Marcos made my most recent car purchase a surprisingly pleasant experience. Jason C. was a true professional and, after several days of discussion, he helped me to drive away with a car that is my favorite of any I've ever owned. The finance representative (also named Jason) really worked with me to get a much better financing option than my bank had offered and to make sure that my payments were affordable. I've never had a better car-buying experience. I'll be encouraging all of my friends and family to come see them when they're in the market to buy.

Not only did Matthew C. listen to what I wanted out of my car he but he was able to get me into a perfect match with no hesitation. My grandson Corey and I had the most delightful experience of buying a new Civic from Kelly at Honda San Marcos. I called her to make an appt after receiving her introduction letter and while having a service appt at the same time. I have bought my last 3 vehicles here and service them here too. I have had nothing but positive experiences each time. We highly recommend Honda San Marcos to others.

I purchased my 2009 Honda Civic in June of 2012. My sales professional Hugo really listened to what I needed in a car. I really enjoyed my buying experience because he educated me all my car options and he made it easy for me to choose the car I needed. The car I really wanted had a few minor cosmetic issues because it was a recent trade in. Jose the sales manager asked me why I liked the car? I told him it was a great fit for my budget and my primary purpose of improving gas milage. He asked me, " Is there anything I can do to earn your business?" I told him what I needed and he told me that it will get done. They honored all my requests and I left a very satisfied customer. It has been a year since my purchase and the car is still running great! I would highly recommend Hugo if you want a low pressure salesperson that listens to your needs.

My husband and I have purchased 2 vehicles in the past year from sales rep, Jason C., and have been very pleased with the outstanding service he, and Honda San Marcos, have provided us. I absolutely love my new 2013 Honda Accord, and will continue to be a loyal customer. Our salesman, as well as the finance team, have made both purchases run quickly and smoothly. I also love the fact that they are one of the few dealerships still offering a lifetime warranty. This shows how much they stand behind their vehicles, and makes me even more pleased about our purchases. Love my Honda Pilot--Great Buying Experience

I bought a 2009 Honda Civic in 2008 at San Marcos Honda and it was not my plan to buy a new vehicle but my husband wanted me to buy a bigger vehicle for a safer ride and room for my big dog. I liked the Pilot and felt comfortable with the test drive, loved it. I did not buy the Pilot that day but when I did some research on other SUVs and if I could handle the higher payment I went back the next day to see what deal we could make since I still owed on my car and get the payments I needed so I am not car poor. They worked with me since I did not have any money down. Overall I think I got a good price. It helped not getting leather or navigation which I did not want or need. The salesmen were great, one with experience and the other in training. They did not use sales pressure techniques and I enjoyed working with them. I did not spend hours as I have in the past at other dealerships wheeling and dealing. I knew what I needed and if they could not work with me I would have simply walked out and waited later in the year or next. Being a Government employee with furlough days I needed to be sure I can carry the bigger payment, they understood. I won't buy a car in Austin and pleased with the overall purchase with San Marcos Honda.

The purchase of my 2010 civic from Honda of San Marcos was a great experience. The sales staff was friendly, patient, and they listen to the customer. When it came down to the details I explained to Mr. Jose C. what I wanted in a car and what I was comfortable with price wise. Mr. C. made sure I got exactly what I wanted and it wasn't very long before we made a deal. The transaction was made in a timely manner without any of that tricky business other dealers try to pull on people. Thanks to the sales and service staff at Honda of San Marcos for making the purchase of my first honda a great experience!

I purchased my new 2013 Honda Accord Coupe in December 2012. I discussed all of the logistics with the General Sales Manager Jose C. over the phone. We drove in from Corpus Christi to finalize the sale and everything went smoothly. The salesman Matthew C. was very nice and helpful. There was not a hidden agenda in the finance department. I was not pressured into buying any unnecessary add-ons. I had a nice, quick, hassle free experience and would highly recommend this dealer to anyone! Thanks again to ALL at Honda of San Marcos!

Update- I just checked if my review had been posted on Edmunds (which it has on 07/06) and see many new positive reviews for seemingly past customers of Honda at San Marcos in a span of 4-5 days immediately after my review was posted. While I am sure those are genuine reviews and there are truly satisfied customers at this dealership, especially customers who dealt with Matthew C (sales person who worked with me, he was great), I am wondering if Honda of San Marcos team made a push/request to its past customers to write reviews at this site to dilute the effect of my review and push it down in the review list instead of bothering to reach out to an unsatisfied customer.

Buyer's remorse

I was originally in the market for a Honda Fit (love the hatchback), but after driving it, I was not excited about it. I looked at a Civic (love the gas mileage) as well. After telling the salesman that I liked these two aspects, I saw an Insight, which is a perfect match for me. (Why didn't he suggest this when I told him I was looking for a hatchback with great mileage?!) When I took the Insight for a test drive, I really liked it. While in the car, I asked if it had cruise control and he said it did. He pointed to the "Select" button on the steering wheel. I bought the car and was happy with it... until I went to drive it home on 35 and figured out the "Select" button tells me a lot of information but isn't cruise control! Cruise control isn't standard on the Insight. I called the next day and they offered to install cruise control for $500. Seriously? I am writing to complain, but I just can't believe that someone would make a mistake like that and then do nothing to make it better.
