RAM 1500 REBEL Purchase from VIVA

I looked up the truck I wanted on the internet contacted the dealer ahead of time to set an appointment to test drive the vehicle. It was directly in front of the lobby and ready to go upon my arrival. We drove it and the salesman, Saul Fernandez, was knowledgeable and showed me three other vehicles on the lot. I was not going to purchase it that day but I got a good price on the my trade in and a good price on the Rebel so I purchased it that day. Overall car buying experience was probably the best experience I have ever had.

Not a Good Experience

This was just not a good experience all around. The only good part of my experience was the Sales Rep I worked with, who was from a different Viva Dealership helping out these guys! The Sales Rep is the only reason why I gave 2 Stars and not just 1. To start off, the wait time was irritating, hours upon hours that was spread across multiple days. They super low balled me on trade-in & they overcharge with their “extras” (which $300 for wheel locks is insane). They threw me the keys to the vehicle that had 6 miles of gas in it and asked me to come back the next day (day #2) to finish paperwork, only to have them not honor our agreed to price from the day before; which extended my wait time in the dealer by hours. They tried to raise my payments to over $40 the agreed amount and tried to justify to me that I get 90 days until my first payment would be due, which I found out in the finance office I was only given 30 days and you get charged EXTRA to get more than 30 days. They are very sneaky and give no [non-permissible content removed] about any budget you are trying to stick to!!! They then turned around to tell me they couldn’t detail the vehicle that day and to come back for a third day. I came back the 3rd day for the ”detail” where I am really unsure what they did. There is still left over residue on the hood from a sticker, all the door jams and rear cargo areas were still dirty, and the rear window of the soft top is disfigured from paper they had taped to it. I wish I could add pictures to show all of this crap they “gifted” me. The other things that pissed me off was the tire pressure was 10 lbs too low and I had to ask twice to get it corrected on “detail” day, had the “Complimentary“ 1 yr SiriusXM subscription shut off after 2 days, and now I have to wait for them to contact the Corporate Office to get it fixed, bet I’ll never hear back about this one unless the Sales Rep stays on their ass; which wouldn’t surprise me if she did. I’m telling you, be weary about this place. The sad part is they seemed to be the lesser of two evils between the local Viva and Dick Poe dealerships.

New or Used

Started off well. Went in to do oil change on friday the 4th and decided to try and get a deal on a new truck. Salesman Brandon gave me 3 options told him what I was able to do and we went from there. Ended up getting approved for a 2019 ram 1500 6 cyl that had 231 miles and a very scratched and beginning to rust tailgate and bed. Told them to add sidesteps and had a deal. They threw in sidesteps and 2 years oil changes. While Brandon was installing truck matts he noticed key to wheel lock was missing. Explained to salesman Brandon I would bring in Truck monday to get sidesteps full tank of gas and full detail and wash early because I needed to leave town at 530 pm for sons graduation from homeland security. Brandon said it should be ready by noon or a little past noon because they had everything in stock . Dropped off truck at 830 am and left. Did not hear anything back. At 1245 called Brandon to find out status. He said it wouldn't be ready until 6. Unacceptable. He then called later asking when I would drop off truck??? Trucks been there since 830 am. At 430 i text Brandon to see what status was did not get response. Called at 445 and gave him a piece of my mind throughout call he laughed. He said they would loan me a truck..unacceptable to loan a truck when I was told it be ready by noon. I left work at 430 believing my truck would be ready, instead I leave have no truck to use was not offered to be picked up or given a ride home and walked home from work arriving at 815 pm to my house. Receive a text from Brandon at 820 stating they were closing soon and adrian would have keys. He stated it took so long because they had to figure out wheel lock situation?? That they did not want me to leave out of town with truck without a key to change a tire ( for my safety...You had truck since 830 am. Brandon stated he was already paying out of his pocket for side steps and did not want to have wheel locks come out of his pocket either. Wow making a customer feel guilty did not work. The only thing done was the sidesteps, full tank of gas and a key to the wheel locks. My truck was not washed, detailed as promised. They were concerned about wheel locks but when I picked up truck at 845 monday night, tires only had a pressure of 30psi....they needed air and they were concerned of my safety. When I inquired about a potential new truck I was a guest once I signed papers I became a customer whio just needed to take truck and never be heard or seen again. Seems like truck I purchased was used for dealership purposes which I would consider a USED truck and was sold to the first customer they could pawn it off on. Scratched and rusting tailgate and bed and a wheel lock key that was lost because either dealership was using to throw trash or loaning to friends or family to rid of their trash. That's right they sold it to a customer who has been treated like trash! I understand that I agreed to purchase vehicle with following with the VIVA promise that my truck would be ready by noon or a little past noon to travel to sons graduation. Yet again the salesman at VIVA thinking only about himself and not being able to deliver my truck as promised. Yet I as your customer failed to make my sons pre graduation dinner all to the lack of your customer service.

Hellcat purchase

I drove the car and decided the 2016 Dodge Hellcat was the car for me. I spoke with Gerry, Eddie and Jason and they did a good job of presenting the car to me. I have purchased my last sports car from Eddie C. and it was an excellent experience as well. After some negotiations we were able to come to a fair price. The delivery was very efficient and I was finished in a timely manner. There were no surprises and everything went as expected.

I thank buying from Viva Dodge was a very pleasent experiance, We have done a lot of work for Viva (car transports and dealer trades) and they have always treated us as a potental customers, My wife (Rosa) had told me many months ago that the next time we buy that we will buy from Viva Dodge, When we approched the sale person (Tony Hernandez) with the interest of buying another truck he was very helpful, focusted, and relintless on supplying us with the Truck of our choice. I will recommend Tony and Viva Dodge to anyone interested in buying a new truck or car. Thanks Tony and all of Viva sale personell. We will be back

This will be my second new ram truck I purchase, first thing i want to erite is my experience buying this truck at viva dodge it was a 110 % difference then Dick poe, everything went smooth, my salesman Tony was very professional and I lost track hoe many trucksack he showed me, very satisfied I got the right one, thanks to tony, and all the financial paperwork went smooth and no mistakes, like st Dick poe , didn't have to go back and fix anything nor had to talk to 20 people, due to fickle poe management. Thank you Viva Dodge will buy again.

Shady loan practice

After 1 month of no auto payment being taken from our account by our bank we started to investigate our car loan. After 2 months of people from the dealership not returning phone calls we got a hold of our bank when we noticed the loan was cancelled on our bank statement. Come to find out our bank terminated the loan after 45 days of not receiving paper work from the dealership. My soldier had to go TDY for 3 weeks and tried dealing with this while TDY but got no where. They would not even return phone calls for over two weeks. I ended up going to the dealership myself to try and take care of things and its a good think I did. I spent an hour waiting in the lobby for them to try and get someone from finance to figure out what was going on and nothing. My soldier had been in communication with the bank for several weeks about figuring out what was up with the loan. The dealership was not returning the banks phone calls either. Come to find out that the dealership sent the paperwork to the title company instead of to the bank as it was supposed to do. The bank called me back and let me know that they where going to reauthorize the lone but that we would have to come up with 2 car payments within the next 48 hours, starting on a Friday, or we would have to start over and risk having the charger repossessed. Thankfully we had saved that money for the payments so we where able to get that taken care of and the loan reinstated. I called the dealership and surprise surprise, no one is available to speak to me and they want me to leave voice mails. So I did. I left the voice mail to the general manager that I needed him to call me about the businesses shady practices or I start talking to our media contacts. We will see what happens. At least now my soldier will come home from TDY in a few days and not have the stress of possibly loosing his car hanging over him any longer.

Worthless warranties

Bought a new jeep and purchased extended service warranty, nationwide flat tire 24hr repair warranty, and oil change service plan. needless to say they were all worthless every time I went into get a oil change they wanted to charge me because it took hours for the warranty company to approve the service, I went in to get flat tire repaired three times I ended up waiting from 4 to 7 hours and still my repair wan not approved so I paid twice out of pocket never got reimbursed and the 3rd time after seeing the service manager try to get approval for a few hours, I just went up the road to Martin Tire, My oil change plan went pretty much the same way every time I went to pick up my jeep they tried to charge me for it even when I presented my warranty paperwork so I just grabbed my keys and told them I would wait for the approval at home. It got so frustrating I went to the BBB and every few weeks I got a call from the BBB telling me that the dealer had told them that they had resolved my problems to my satisfaction to which I always said I never had. My only satisfaction was while I was waiting for my car to get approved for whatever my warranty was for, I went around to people sitting in the sales peoples office and shared my experiences with everyone waiting to buy a car to the horror of the sales people. The look on the faces of the employees of driveway dodge every time I was recognized and talking to potential car buyers was priceless.

Internet sales

Great sales staff. Not pushy. Allowed me to test drive. Did not have exactly what I was looking for but did not try to sell me something I did not want. Dealer adds $1,000 of options before sale and you do not have a choice to refuse.
