Stay Away

by Michael on 05/14/2020

On Apr 8, I put down a deposit on a Telluride, they already had the vin# and it was being delivered no later than April 15. April 15 comes, and the wrong cars were shipped to them. They said they would have it no later than 22nd guaranteed. Apr 22nd comes and goes, now due to covid all shipments are being delayed, the car is built but they can’t find someone to deliver it. On May 1st, they said they received the invoice for the car and that means it will be here soon (not sure why they guaranteed it 2-weeks earlier without having the invoice). I tell them I’m out of town for a week starting the following Wednesday. They said they hope to have it by Tuesday. Tuesday morning, I find out my income is dropping $700/mo due to Covid. I express my desire to postpone my purchase. They say they can defer payments for 45-days. I tell them ok, when the car comes in, I’ll come look at it. Of course, it comes in once I’m out of town. They ask if I still want it, I said they can open it up for sale and if it’s still there Monday or Tuesday I’ll come look at it. Well, congratulations for them they sold I within an hour. I was still leaning towards buying the car with the deferred payment, but I figure it’s a win-win and everyone would be happy. Well, I’m not happy. They won’t refund my $500 deposit. Nothing was said about me losing my deposit if they sell it to someone else. I understand if I walked away from the deal completely, they would keep my deposit. But I couldn’t buy the car before Monday no matter what, and they sold it in an hour. I’m very disappointed in the customer service at Classic Kia of Carrolton. At some point soon, I will be buying this car, but it won’t be at this dealership. Anyone company this petty over $500, where they lost nothing, is not a company I would recommended doing business with.

Not a Place to Buy a Used Car

by NGonzalez3 on 04/27/2017

While I do not know much about their New Car Sales team, I would not buy a Used Car from here. We recently purchased a used vehicle which Classic Kia stated went through a rigorous inspection process and passed. Due to the high mileage on the vehicle, we requested that a vehicle insurance be included in the purchase as well. The Finance team said that they included a 2-year warranty which would cover the vehicle bumper to bumper with the exception of the AC. The vehicle was purchased and after 6 months of usage, the vehicle has been a nightmare. First, we took the vehicle to another dealership to get an oil change. It turns out the vehicle had two open recalls which had been open for over a year. Then the steering column started vibrating, the radio stopped working properly, and the driver's seat-belt literally broke! When taken back to Classic Kia for repair, they took the vehicle for about a month, provided a loaner, and then came back and stated the repairs were not under warranty. We tried to talk to the the Sales Manager Ramiro and the Finance Manager who put everything together and both have not been available to talk. Outraged, we filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and are in the process of seeking legal counsel to help resolve this issue. Had the vehicle gone through their inspection process, they would not have been able to sell the car due to the open recalls on it. All we want is for them to follow through on their commitment and fix the car but it looks like all they wanted at the end of the day was the sale.

Bait and Switch - Avoid This Dealer

by cvsmith on 05/25/2016

BAIT AND SWITCH --- AVOID THIS DEALER!!! I was looking to work with a local dealer to facilitate a trade for a car coming in from out of state. I posted the details on my trade-in through Edmunds.com (including VIN#, Mileage, all options, accurate description of condition, etc.) for dealers to review and contact me with an offer. Destinie from Classic Kia texted me and asked me what I wanted for the car. I knew what the right number was, but I'm not a fool and understand how to negotiate, so I asked her to make me an offer, based of course on the assumption that the car would be as I represented. She texted me back an offer of $56k. (This was right in line with the recommended Dealer Trade In Value from Edmunds) I was willing to take the deal, and scheduled to come in the next morning. When I got there, I was passed over to a different salesman (Steven), who then took the car to his Manager (typical "Higher Authority" BS they've been teaching hack car salesmen since the dawn of time). They came back and said the best they could do was $50k. The ONLY thing that had changed about this vehicle from the previous day when they offered me $56k was the 15 miles added to the odometer to drive over to the dealer. The original offer was made with no managerial approval, and no intention of it being honored. Destinie was just trying to get me in the door so they could go to work on me. They wasted my time, which I hate even more than someone wasting my money. Naturally......I left, and instead worked out a deal with the out of state dealer that got me a fair amount for my trade, even though I had to eat a few hundred bucks of shipping cost to get the deal done. There's a reason people hate Car Dealers, and it's this kind of behavior. There are good dealers out there, but this place is NOT one of them. I recommend avoiding Classic Kia. The people are not particularly bright, have no integrity, and you can expect all the worst parts of the car buying experience if you walk in the door of this place.

Great buying experience

by nick832 on 04/08/2016

Came on the lot and was greated professionally with no hassle or pressure. Tony listened to what I was looking for and pointed out what they had on site that matched my description. He offered me a test ride with no sales talk and pointed out features not obvious. It was the first time I returned to a dealer's parking lot where having the salesperson with me on the test drive was a bonus. When I decided to buy, they worked with me on the deal until it was done, which turned out to be 8:30pm. What impressed me more was that every staff member that worked with stayed until the entire deal was done, including filling up the car before I left the lot. I bought a car and they bought my business.

Outstanding dealership

by natashakim on 03/31/2016

I recently purchased a new Forte at Classic Kia of Carrollton too. The sales staff was professional. Jose Torres was phenomenal to work with. His laid back no pressure approach made it a great buying experience. I would recommend Classic Kia to anyone looking to purchase a new or certified pre-owned Car. Ask for Jose and you'll be well taken care of.
