Subaru Outback

by Subaru Rocks on 07/26/2023

I bought a 2024 Outback from Faulkner Subaru. Anthony T. was my salesman. This was my second Subaru that I bought from Faulkner and Anthony was a big reason for that. Anthony and the rest of the Faulkner team made buying the car very easy.

Satisfied with the purchase and vehicle

From our first stop at the dealer to picking up our new Subaru Legacy we couldn't be more satisfied. From the sales rep to the dealership itself, all went without a hitch or complaint.

Sales Representative Was Knowledgable & Informative

by Lc3smd1 on 06/03/2019

The entire sales experience with Faulkner Subaru was positive. My salesman Ziad, was low pressure, knowledgeable and informative throughout the sales transaction. He wanted to ensure that the car was right for the person. Morgan was also very helpful and knowledgeable of the car's functions. While in the dealership I was able to sense a feeling of community with the staff and other customers. I must also say that this was the best car buying experience that I ever had. I will definitely return to Faulkner when the need for a new auto arises.

Crisis of Character

by CMCoyle on 08/22/2017

I went to Faulkner Subaru Bethlehem where I had got my last Subaru and bought a new one or at least so I had thought. Three days later on the day of delivery they called me saying that they in fact could not get the car that they had promised even though I had already put a down payment on it and they had also run my credit. In light of this they did absolutely nothing to attempt to keep my business. The management didn't even so much as reach out to me to apologize. The actions of Faulkner Subaru Bethlehem Management are indicative of not only a flawed business practice and philosophy but most importantly character.

Awesome Experience

by Kmbanks21 on 05/01/2017

Couldn't be happier with my new 2017 Crosstrek that I picked up this weekend from Faulkner Subaru in Bethlehem. Coming in from 2hrs away on last day of the month I had a lot of hesitations but everyone there made the process so seamless. I arrived signed the paperwork and took home my new vehicle as planned. No hiccups or long waits. Everyone treated you like family and the whole process was very low pressure. Best car buying experience I've had so far.

Watch out for doubled interest rate!

by Carreviewer on 12/17/2016

I recently bought a car at the dealership and got completely taken advantage of when they charged me double the interest rate of what I should have been financed. I had a credit scoring in the 700s which I found out later from my bank that it's an A rating. The finance staff at the dealership told me I had a B/B- rating and my interest rate was 5.99%. He even did the shaming process by showing me exactly what areas on my credit history impacted my "low" score. I didn't do my homework and took his word for it when he told me he was giving me the lowest rate. I even thanked him. After I made the mistake of trusting him and signing the papers, I later realized the rate was ridiculously high. I had to refinance the loan with my bank the next day and they gave me a 2.49%. Unbelievable. A positive take away, I like the car and the sales women was helpful, but never again would I get a car there based on my awful experience being taken advantaged of and paying double the finance rate.

Car Buyers BEWARE!

by Jeffrey57 on 12/01/2016

We were just at Faulkner Subaru a couple nights ago. Came very close to buying a Crosstrek that we really liked, until they tried to scam us. The sales woman asked me for my signature of good intent that if they matched our terms, my wife and I would purchase the car. I signed. She came back to us with a financial offer that was close to what we needed and we agreed to it. She returned to the sales managers office only to return a few minutes later. She apologetically informed us that her manager had made a mistake in the calculations of $2000, they felt so bad that they were willing to take less for the car and offer us more for our trade-in but it was still going to raise our monthly payments and extend our loan a few months. At first, it seemed minor but then I did the math and it added up to an increase of $1300! We walked. . .what a scam. . .bate and switch! PLEASE--Don't let them pull it on you.

Great Dealership

by LauraMM on 10/17/2016

We just got a Subaru Crosstrek and we love it! Buying a new car isn't always a pleasant experience but at Faulkner it was. Everyone there is very friendly and helpful. They make sure you are comfortable with the car before you leave the lot. Our sales professional, Jack, was exceptional. While we were signing the financial papers, he transferred our personal property from our trade-in into our new Crosstrek. He also called us a couple of days later to see if we had any questions. When it is time to replace our other car there is no doubt we will be back to see Jack.

No nonsense

by lenlenhart on 04/15/2014

Last labor day, finding that the 2013 Outbacks were selling out quickly at all the local dealerships, I found that Faulkner still had a reasonable selection. I was quoted an online price that I thought reasonable, so after playing a little phone tag (because of the holiday) I called and told them I wanted the car. When we arrived, they greeted me, saying the car was almost ready, so we went to work on the papers..... the sales manager quoted me $500 more than the online price I had gotten, but we straightened that out and everything went smoothly. No trade in, no pressure, and 0% financing for 4 years, since there was no further discount for cash. The salesman even met me near my home to straighten out a glitch in the paperwork, so I didn't have to drive to the dealership. Very happy with the car, and with all aspects of the sale.

Impressed from NYC

by James_C on 01/31/2014

I had an excellent experience with Faulkner Subaru Bethlehem similar to that of "niedzwiedz". I had my mind made up on an Outback Premium w/ Moonroof package (after research and a test drive) and did some extensive online shopping in the tristate NY area (I'm in NYC) trying to find the best quote I could. The initial quote I got from Bob G beat the offers I got from others without any back and forth. A dealership in my neighborhood told me they could match the offer from Faulkner and another much closer to me than PA came very close to the quote (and others said they can't match it and warned me that I'd be wasting my time if I drove there expecting to get the car for what I was quoted). So on a Saturday in September I set out to get my car (bringing my Father along for the fun). We went to the dealership in my neighborhood (Star Subaru - Bayside, NY) that was going to match the offer from Faulkner. When it came down to it, they weren't matching the offer at all. They now said they could give me the price I was quoted, but since they didn't have any Outback's in their inventory at the moment, they weren't sure what options it would come with when the stock came in and I would be responsible for the extra costs of whatever options the car arrived with. No guarantee of getting the car I wanted or the price I was given were obvious dealbreakers. We pressed on to the next dealership on my list (Town Subaru - Englewood, NJ) that I had received a quote for a specific Outback they had listed online that was very similar to the quote I got from Faulkner. When I arrived, I asked for the dealer I had worked with to get the quote (I was in contact with him the previous day) but he was off Saturday. I explained to the dealer that helped me which car I was looking for and that I worked online with the other dealer and he told me that the car I was quoted the price for was sold. I asked him when it was sold he told me earlier in the week. This upset me since I worked on a deal for a car they didn't have. The salesman tried to spin me towards other vehicles/options which upset me further. So after that experience I was a bit worked up and last on my list was the one furthest away, Faulkner, which closed at 5:00 on Saturday's. I put a call in to Bob when we started out for PA (it was around 2:30) to ensure that the car I wanted was still available (I hadn't emailed him since earlier in the week). He wasn't available so we took a leap of faith that it was and pressed on. Bob called back about an hour or so later and told me they still had the car and that he'll have it ready for me to test drive in the front of the dealership when I got there. We arrived about a quarter after 4 and Bob was extremely courteous, professional and friendly. We took a test drive and I was convinced I wanted the car feeling no pressure from him whatsoever. Everything was transparent in the pricing I was given and it was in-line with the quote I received. I didn't negotiate a trade-in beforehand, but my car was inspected and I received a fair offer for it so we made that a part of the transaction as well. I worked with Denis O for the financing portion of the sale while Bob got my new car ready for me (mind you this was past closing time for the dealership). Denis explained everything very well and did not push hard for extending the warranty or service contract. I felt very comfortable with everything I was signing and did not have any costs come out of left field after it was completed. Once that was done, I transferred my belongings from my old car to my new car which Bob had all ready for me. Bob gave me a run through of a lot of the features I should know about that we didn't cover on the test drive. He offered to connect my phone to the bluetooth system as well as anything else I might have needed help with. In the week that followed, Bob worked with me to help get my car registration done for New York (it was a little tricky because I was out of state and had a different address on my license and insurance). He was patient throughout and it was done correctly and in time. I admit I was likely a bit of a bugger to him at times but he never let me know it. This was a night and day difference from the dealership experiences I've had. I waited four months to post this review because I wanted to make sure there were no issues with the car or annoyances from the dealership. There are none to report. All is well, and I (along with my Father who was also impressed) will definitely take the trip back to Bethlehem when it's time for a new car.

Great car buying experience!

by Umholtz on 11/06/2013

My wife an I had a great experience with Faulkner and our sales rep, Bob G. We had failed to come to an agreement with our former dealership after multiple attempts coming off our lease with them. On our first attempt with Faulker, they were able to give us a fair deal and help us get to a comfortable payment while helping us end our lease. We got a Subaru Legacy over the Ford Fussion, not because of the price (that helped) but because of the safety reputation , the All wheel drive without the loss of mpg efficiency, and the respect we received from Faulker . We highly recommend doing business with Faulker, especially Subaru and our sales rep Bob G.

Nice car, unhappy customer

by Downcountry on 06/27/2013

I was happy with the vehicle, although they didn't meet my trade in value. I am very unhappy with the follow on pressure during the financing phase to get me to take the ultra high profit exterior coating and the extension of the warranty (neither of which I wanted to buy), which added thousands of dollars to the cost. I am a senior citizen who drives many miles per year so as to make the extension unwise. This after the sale treatment has caused me to enjoy my purchase less and has caused my first impression of Faulkner to sour.

vehicle was misrepresented

by kaka12 on 11/24/2012

We purchased a used vehicle from this dealer. The next morning, after we drove off their lot with our "new purchase", the check engine light came on. We found out it had transmission problems. Faulkner promised us that the problem would "be handled" and they would cover the expense, we just wanted our sale voided since it was a less than 24 hours after the sale. Faulkner told us the car would have a “new transmission , not to worry.” The transmission was "fixed" in their words. Five months later the transmission went again. I tried contacting Faulkner and when they finally got back to me they washed their hands of it, told us "it was our problem" This company is very unprofessional, they are [non-permissible content removed], they are greedy businessmen that will do and say anything just to make a sale. “Faulkner to be sure” is their motto. It should say….. FAULKNER TO BE SURE TO [non-permissible content removed] EVERY CHANCE WE GET

Good cars review we could find we needed dealer reviews.

by padutchman on 04/25/2011

We did our best reading and accessing as much information we could on our new car purchase. There are two Subaru dealers in our area and the one we would not even consider. We were going to look at Faulkner Subaru first and then we were going to a Honda dealer with another excellent review. In our discussions our salesman knew his product and treated Nancy my wife with respect and answered all her questions. Nancy did the most reading and she knew what she wanted. His name was Roland Zuk and in talking it came out he had sold Saturn's at a dealership I greatly trusted and we dealt with. We purchased our Subaru from Roland and we have been nothing but PLEASED WITH HIM AND FAULKNER SUBARU.

Very fair Dealership!

by wrz0170 on 12/12/2010

I recently purchased the Outback 2.5i Limited from Faulkner and I think I got a pretty fair deal. Now I could've played the game and go back and forth between Becker and Faulkner and probably got another couple hundred knocked off. Only thing was that Becker did not have the color I wanted. I figure if you are going to drive a car for 3-5 years or longer and spending the kind of money for an Outback, you should get EXACTLY what you want. After all, you will have to look at it every single day. Anyway, I actively emailed one of the salesman and asked for the best price. He came in well under what Edmunds said. I made an appointment and went for the test drive. My Salesman took the time to go through almost all points of the car, explaining Subuaru's AWD system to the more mundane features. The negotiations were done fairly quickly. He did go a couple hundred more than quote. Now the impressive part. I told him that my only request is that I did not want to be there all day doing paperwork. I arrived there at 10am and was driving off the lot at 1:15pm in my new Outback. He wasn't pushy about the up sale of the extended warranty and the other useless stuff. He is required to offer and I declined. He did not push it afterward. Only thing I can say is when I asked about if there are perks such as free inspections, he rambled and gave a strange answer as to why they don't offer free inspections. I will have to look into that further if they do or they don't. I also tried to push for either a tow package OR remote starter but he wouldn't budge. Not a negative or positive. Figured it was worth a shot. Overall, I had a very positive experience and would recommend them. I think they will give a fair deal without the big dealership hassle of BS sales games. In several months, I will see how their service is!

Faulkner Subaru Rocks!

by scottginpa on 10/11/2010

I have only had very good and positive experiences with Faulkner Subaru. Dealt with them on 4 vehicles and each time the experience was great! My salesperson (Bob Gearhart) is very responsive to phone and email. He is very informative, caring, honest, thorough and always went the extra mile. Nancy (Riddle) Kwatkoski, the finance manager, is also top-notch! She is professional, informative, caring and went out of her way to help me. My experience with the service department has been equally positive and I have no issues. This dealership is responsive. When I complained about the lack of WiFi, they added it. When I was not happy with them not having loaner cars in service, here too, they added them. Again, for my family and I, Faulkner Subaru is 5-stars all the way!

Manager guy lacks customer service...

by strouse1504 on 07/19/2008

Manager guy lacks customer service when it comes to dealing with women. Especially if you're buying a car near closing time. He needs to be more in tune with the 21st century where women can and do voice their opinion. Think I'll go back to Becker Subaru next time or deal with the lady manager.
