Ruined my car and won’t fix it!

I had an issue with my car, and brought it in because I was told it was likely related to a recall that I hadn’t been alerted to. Hassett wanted to charge me for what should have been a free recall fix. An inspector from Subaru headquarters had to come down and tell them to perform the work free of charge. His assessment found an issue with the rocker arm, but concluded that it was related to the recall, and that there was no other damage to the engine, and that they should perform the work. Hasset performed the work, and the next day my car wouldn’t run. When I brought it back, there was now all sorts of damage to my engine that the inspector Had said wasn’t present before they worked on my car. Hassett would not fix the car, making all sorts of untrue representations to Subaru hq (that there were ore-existing issues despite the fact that the inspector found none!) and Subaru headquarters would not get involved anymore. There are five Subaru vehicles in my family, and none of us will ever give them a dollar again due to this horrible customer service experienced.

EXCELLENT SERVICE

My mechanic performed an oil change and was very thorough, including filling the windshield fluid and putting air in the tires. Seems like little stuff, but it is very important to me and I look for that kind of attention to detail when I bring in my car.

Forced to use Lincoln to get my car inspected

I was on vacation and realize my inspection was up to the local gas station in Car inspect my car because Lincoln had an update to be able to inspect your car so I lost $37 for the inspection and was forced to wait two weeks for an appointment from Lincoln to get my car inspected

Great Service

Wonderful experience each time my car needs servicing. Very clean facility, staff are pleasant. Recently needed Eyesight re-calibrated on my Subaru and Hassett was able to take care of this quickly. Very happy with the service I have received.

What's Not to Like?

I bought my Subaru Outback at Hassett in 2006 and have been using them for all my service needs since then. There hasn't been a single issue that occurred over the 10 years that bothered me. The service department's staff is extremely friendly, the prices are fair, and they always go out of their way to make sure I'm satisfied every time I bring my car in. I sat in the service area waiting room the one time I waited for my car (in frigid temperatures) and was grateful it was warm, had a large HD TV, and best of all, 2 computer work stations. There is no doubt in my mind that my next car will be a Subaru and I will purchase it at Hassett.

Great Disappointment

I have owned 6-7 Subarus....all with no problems. The cars were dependable and a joy to own. Sadly, from the beginning my 2014 Outback purchased from this dealer has not lived up to those expectations. The leather seats were defective and to make a long story short I had to resort to The Lemon Law in my state to have this dealt with. Both the dealership and manufacturer left me high and dry with excuses. They were unwilling to make it right. Now a tapping noise in the engine became apparent and when I notified Hassett I was told there was a technical bulletin issued on this problem and they would need the car for at least a week to remove the engine to remedy the issue. They gave me a loaner car and after 2 weeks had the car ready for me to pick up. When I picked up the car and started it to leave the lot a very disturbing clang came from the front of the car. A technician came out, opened the hood did something quickly...and said it was fine! I left. Within a couple of days I noticed the original tapping noise was still there, and now a very loud growling sound occurred when I started the car in the morning. I took the car in, was told it was fine and to give it awhile for the "new engine" to break in. I gave it over 1000 miles, noise was worse took it back and was told they checked everything and the car was fine. They took me around the lot and had me listen to other cars , none of which was the same year as mine, to prove these sounds were normal. They are not normal, have been heard and commented on by several people including another mechanic and once again I've been dismissed by a dealership and car maker that both profess to be invested in an exemplary customer service policy. I like the staff at Hassett service department. They are nice people that probably want to do the right thing...but they don't write the policy,,,I guess they are just doing their jobs. I don't know if the other dealers on the island are any better, my other cars were purchased out of state. Subaru...you ain't what you used to be. Where, in the past, I rated your customer service quite high, I would no longer even recommend your product to anyone. It's not even that the cars are inferior, which I don't believe they are, but your lack of loyalty and commitment to your customer is rock bottom. Too bad...you would have had a customer for life.

Owner friendly

My forester went in for state inspection. It was completed within 45 minutes and the checked all belts hoses etc. The parts department was also helpful in assisting me so I could install mud guards on my car.
